Without thinking I pushed him up against the door and my lips collided with his.
It was a wonderful feeling. My heart pounded in my chest as the butterflies swarmed in my stomach.
Before I knew it he turned us around so I was pressed to the door. We continued to move our mouths against each other and soon I felt his tongue on mine.
We'd never had such a passionate kiss. Mostly because we'd never had the time. We were always apart and soon we would be again.
His hands moved to cup my face and I thought the intensity of the kiss might cause me to explode. Our breathing quickened and my hands ran softly through his hair.
Our movements slowed and he pulled away, leaving a kiss on my nose then on my forehead.
I kept my arms around his neck as he gripped my hips. We gazed at each other longingly. There was so much for us to say, so much to catch up on... Somehow we were just content with the silence.
"You hungry?" I finally spoke up.
"A bit," he shrugged.
"You wanna go out for dinner?"
"Let's just stay in, yeah?" He smiled shyly.
"Okay, I'll order pizza," I said, breaking our embrace.
I walked over to the table to retrieve my phone as Zayn plopped down on the couch in the living room.
Once I'd ordered the pizza, I sat next to Zayn on the couch. We watched How I Met Your Mother on Netflix while we waited for the food.
"You're always watching this show, aren't you?" He asked amusedly.
"It's the best," I said simply.
"I've never really gotten into it," he replied.
"You should," I smiled.
"For you, I will," he smiled goofily.
"You're so cheesy," I swatted at his arm.
"You know you like it," he wiggled his eyebrows.
I rolled my eyes playfully, unable to think of a comeback.
Once the food arrived, we ate comfortably in the living room. I sat cross legged on the couch munching on pizza, consumed by the episode playing. I could feel Zayn stare at me every once in a while, but didn't call attention to it.
"I missed this," he said suddenly.
"What?" I asked, puzzled.
"This," he gestured at the space in front of him. "Sitting around with you, eating pizza, doing nothing."
"Doing nothing?" I asked jokingly.
"Yeah," he nodded. "Doing nothing and being okay with it. Just enjoying each other's company."
"Me too," I beamed.
We smiled at each other before continuing to eat our food.
My thoughts were wandering as my eyes focused on the tv. It was so simple, being with Zayn... and he would always smile at me that special way. It felt like I was in a cheesy movie, like everything was lovey-dovey and... too perfect.
It was an amazing feeling... but it terrified me. If everything was perfect and I was so happy... things could only get worse from here.
The beginning of a relationship is always the 'honeymoon' phase. Everything's downhill after that.
That's not what I want, I thought. I can't let that happen.
I shook the thoughts from my head and focused my attention back on the tv.
