On the drive home from Tyler's I just couldn't get him out of my head. I have had a crush on Tyler for a few months now and I need to make a move soon or someone will swoop in and take him from me.

I arrive home pretty fast considering I live a neighbourhood across from Tyler. I reach over to grab my bags from the back seat and notice Tyler left his hoodie. It must have got stuck on something when he was getting his bags out. I grab it with all my stuff, my intentions were of course to give the back.

I walk upstairs, not even bothering to yell to see if anyone's home because they never are. My moms always on business trips, my dads in another state for a few months and all my siblings have left. I walk into my room and lay all my stuff on my bed and then walk over to my desk. As I'm doing my homework I get a text. My heart jumps thinking it might be Tyler but it's not. It's Brianna, my ex.

From: Brianna
Hey Josh. Clearly you left school early, once again, and missed out on math. You know math is the only class we have together and we need to sort shit out between us. You told me we were taking a break not breaking up, I miss you.

I scoff in disgust. I'm not the kind of person to dump someone and go on with my life, I like to let them down slowly and that's what I'm in the midst of doing with Brianna. I decide I need to take a walk. I settle on a park which just happens to be in Tyler's neighbourhood so I text him to see if he wants to meet up.

To: Ty :)
Hey Tyler, I'm going to be at roywood park in about ten minutes. If you wanna meet me there we can hangout.

I send the message and slip my phone into the pocket on my jacket, plug in my earphones and start walking.

After 10 minutes of walking I don't get a reply from Tyler so I assume he's busy. I soon arrive at roywood and sit underneath the big oak tree. It wasn't too long before I noticed someone sitting on the swings across the park. If it wasn't for the bright red socks and signature black vans I wouldn't of even noticed it was Tyler. My mood lifts immediately and I begin to walk over towards him.

"Ty?"
"Oh....hey Josh"
"What's up?"
"I've just been having some jumbled thoughts and this is where I come to think" Tyler says as he looks down to his feet where he is kicking at the dirt.
"Are you okay?" I say concerned
"Yeah, I think. It's just Mel's been acting really weird since I've been hanging out with you and she won't answer my texts or snapchats and.....I don't know. I just guess it feels good to have someone to talk to other than her and-oh god I'm rambling" Tyler says as he places his head in his hands.
"No it's okay, I'll listen." I say as I plant my hand on his arm.
"Josh, what's wrong with me?!" Tyler cries as he looks Josh in the eyes.
"No, no Tyler nothing's wrong with y-" Josh was cut off by a loud boom coming from the sky and shortly after, thousands of tiny water droplets falling onto his warm skin.
Josh grabs Tyler's hand and dashes for the cylindrical tunnel in the playground. The only source of shelter they would have from the rain.

After a few seconds of silence the two boys look into each others eyes and begin laughing.
"See Ty, everything not as bad as it seems"
"I guess you're right"
Josh notices a small tear drop slowly tailing its way down Tyler's cheek and softly brings his hand up to wipe it away. He looks up to meet Tyler's eyes. After a few moments he begins to lean in as does Tyler.

As their lips meet all that could be heard was the soft pitter patter of rain and the smell of the wet earth around them.
