He had to get out.

He had to leave.

Josh ran out of the house, ignoring the shouts from inside the house.

He didn't know where he was running.

Away.

He didn't look as he crossed the street.

He heard car horns.

He kept running.

His vision started to get blurry at the edges.

He kept running.

He saw the headlights of a car.

He blacked out.

Tyler was absent-mindedley picking at the threads of his hoodie while waiting in the lobby of a bland hospital near the high school. The walls were covered with an off-white wallpaper that was peeling at the corners of each wall.

He wouldn't even be in this place if that random guy hadn't ran out in front of him and passed out. In the middle of a parking lot, too. It's like the kid wanted to get run over. He would have, if Tyler wasn't there. Would've been hit by an SUV full of kids too high to realize who's in front of them.

Tyler couldn't blame him, though. He was Josh Dun after all. An easy target; every time the poor guy tried to speak to anyone he'd become completely illiterate. He's basically the Carrie of Ingraham High School.

Anyways, Tyler thought the least he could do was stick around to see if he was okay. Although, it was becoming utterly boring in the waiting room. The only entertainment was an old TV screen in the corner of the room that had its volume turned up slightly, playing a generic game show from the 80s.

Tyler sighed, waiting for a nurse or doctor or anyone to come through the door to cure the dullness of the room.
Finally, he heard the creak of the rusty door hinges.

Tyler was reassured that the boy from the parking lot was fine, but he wasn't allowed to see him, as he wasn't family. So, Tyler gladly escaped the dreary hospital in search of his car. Josh would be fine, his parents were probably on their way to see him. Tyler didn't even know him.

Tyler was just sad he didn't get the opportunity to tell Josh how much he liked his hair, him being unconscious and all.
