"What...was....that?" Shrek gasped and threw the bat down. Donkey was at a loss for words. Neither of them knew what was happening. Shrek then realized he just killed his love. His one true love whom loved him for who he was. He stumbled back onto a chair and let the tears fall. Donkey walked up to him and put his hoof around Shrek's neck.

"I-I'm sorry Shrek...I have no idea what that was. I don't know what to do," Donkey spoke in a whisper. Shrek didn't know either. Should they go outside and find out what's going on or stay safe. Shrek decided that Donkey and himself need to find out what is going on.

"We have to go outside," Shrek said and Donkey took a deep breath.

"I guess we will have to," Donkey replied. Shrek got up and went to the sink. He washed his face off with water and dried it. He grabbed the bat from Fiona's body and slung it over his back. Donkey grabbed a knife and handed it to Shrek. If there were other zombies, they needed all the protection they could get. Donkey then grabbed a gun he stole from Farqquad's castle and handed it to Shrek. Shrek sighed and put the gun in his vest. They looked at each other, nodded, and then walked out the door. It was eerily silent, which was pretty normal out in the swamp. They began walking out of the forest and towards Lord Farqquad's castle. They knew that the castle would be the safest place for them, after they kill all the zombies, if there were any in there. They walked pretty fast, incase they crossed paths with any zombies.

"Again Shrek, I'm sorry about Fiona. You don't deserve this," Donkey broke the silence. Shrek took a breath and spoke.

"Nobody does, Donkey. She was my one true love. The only one who would love me for myself. The only Ogre in this world. Now she's gone. But I think she is in a better place. She was too beautiful of a soul to be in a world overcome by zombies with no souls. Thank you though, Donkey. You are a true friend and I'm glad I have you on this journey. You saved my life many times, as I have with you, and if we don't survive this, just know I'm thankful to have known you. You are the best stubborn jackass anyone could have as a sidekick," Shrek finished and chuckled. Donkey smiled and let a tear fall, but Shrek didn't have to know that.

"Do you hear that?" Shrek said, and stopped walking. Donkey stopped too and they both heard it. A groaning coming from the woods.

"Stay here," Shrek said and walked towards the sound. Donkey waited and then heard the noise stop. Shrek came back out with blood splattered on his face. Donkey didn't ask what happened and they continued walking. Soon, they could see Farqquad's castle in the distance.

"Let's go," Shrek said and Donkey agreed. They began walking to the abandoned castle. They knew they had to be careful on their journey. They didn't know if this would be their last together, so they made sure to watch each other's back. Soon, after killing two more zombies, they got to the entrance of the castle. They kicked open the gate, which made a low squeaking noise, which added to the eery vibe. Shrek walked in first, and then Donkey.
