yuri sat on his bed as he watched on the tv screen whatever was playing. he had recently lost the grand prix finals, adding on to the frustration in his life. he was stressed over many things, one being the fact that he has never once in his life seen or even talked to his soulmate, whenever you speak to your soulmate you're supposed to feel butterfly's in your stomach. not once has yuri felt that.
'well there was that one time where i felt all flustered when the victor nikiforov talked to me' he thought in his mind, 'don't get your hopes up yuri, you know he probably has a nice attractive soulmate back in russia' yuri sighed to himself, all the stress of losing the finals and him being confused on who his soulmate will be added to the list of things he needed stress from.
yuri walked out of his room, slipping on his blue jacket and a pair of shoes saying a faint "i'm going out" to his mom as he walked out the door. he walked to the ice skating rink that his good friends yuuko & takeshi owned.
as he walked into the rink, through the front door hence that no one would be there since it was after hours. he walked up to the counter where most people would pay to get in, he saw yuuko hanging up some skates. he cleared his throat, successfully getting her attention. she slowley turning around saying something about it being after hours until her eyes landed on yuri. he eyes widened, "yuri! it's you, i suppose you're here to practice-" she said waiting for yuri's answer which was answered with a nod, " well the rinks always open to you!" she says as she smiles kindly to yuri, "thank you, yuuko, it means a lot.." "no need to thank me!"
yuri walked into the locker room slipping on his skates. he walked out onto the rink, his childhood friend following close behind. he gets onto the ice sighing, happy to be back home. he looks down at his hip thinking of the tattoo him and his soulmate share. he lightly smiled at the thought of the half ice skate he has imprinted onto his hip. as he smiled he looked up to yuuko who was awaiting his skating, "yuuko, i've been practicing something that i've wanted to show you for some time now." she nodded to him to go ahead and go.
yuri began to skate to victor nikiforov's finals skate. it was to the dong 'stay close to me' he skated along just the same as victor did, as he skated all his emotions seemed to be put to the side, all worries lost. he continued to skate until he knew the choreographing ended. he looked up at his friend, the man slightly panting, but as he looked up he saw 4 girls there, yuuko and her 3 children, luts, axel, and loop, all with some kind of cameras in their hands. his face flushed red at the 3 girls who were watching.
yuuko laughed a bit, whipping her eyes a bit, " sorry for the girls yuri, they're huge groupies." yuri nodded as he heard the 3 girls say a few words about how he's gained weight and how he still hasn't found his soulmate, he tried to stop them throughout their little comments but was interrupted by takeshi, the girls father, come out and say a few words to yuri.
-time skip-
yuri left the rink, waving to the family of 5 as he walked back to his home. as he walked back he looked out to the ocean where he saw the sun setting onto the horizon. it all looked so sureal to him. he kept walking until he reached his house, he walked in and headed straight to bed, not bothering to say goodnight to his sister or parents, it was a long day.
as he slumped down onto his bed, he heard his twitter notification blow up. as he opened up his phone to see what was going, over 100 tweets were sent to him with a link to youtube. on that link was a video of his ice skating to victor's routine, 'damn kids..' yuri thought as he heard his phone go off. he answered to hear father nishigori frantically apologizing. he disregarded it, his mind going insane. he said a faint, "good night" as he tossed his phone away and closed his eyes falling asleep.
in the morning he was awoken to his mother shaking him saying the words, "yuri! you need to wake up to help shovel snow!" yuri wined as his mom walked out of his room. he soon got up slipping on a sweater and oversized hoodie onto his thick body. he walked out of his room going to get outside and start shoveling but at that moment he was toppled to the ground by a large poodle. he looked up, "v-vicchan?' he asked as he looked the poodle up and down 'he's to big to be vicchan' he thought. he heard his dad laugh, "that's exactly what i thought when i saw him! but he belongs to a strange foreign guest!'
that's when it hit him, this dog belongs to not him but victor nikiforov
