The launch was scheduled for the next day, so we had to get ready fast. I was at Elle's house- along with Eghosa, and obviously, Elle- to make final preparations and plans before leaving.
"Do any of your parents know you're doing this?" I asked.
"Nope," both Eghosa and Elle replied.
"Same."
The three of us began laughing, but we stopped when we heard the door open. Standing there was a girl whom I did not recognize at first.. She had long, pale strawberry blonde hair, and olive green eyes, and she was fairly tall.
"So, you've decided you're too cool for Earth, huh?" The girl laughed. She had an accent. It sounded British, but I wasn't sure.
"Oh, please, Avalon," Elle smirked in reply.
"I wouldn't blame you if that was the case," Avalon smiled, "I've always loved space." She then looked in my direction. "You're Julianna, correct? We met a while ago, I believe."
I nodded. "Yeah, that's me. And I guess you're Avalon."
"When was this?" Eghosa asked.
"That's a story for another time, Eghosa," Elle sighed.
"Hey, do you think I could maybe come with you guys?" Avalon said.
"Actually," Elle replied with, "I was thinking about that. I think it'd be better if you stayed here on Earth. Y'know, to make sure no one dies while we fight evil space people and stuff."
Although she looked slightly disappointed, Avalon nodded. "I guess I am the most qualified for that job." she smirked. "But you people had better take pictures."
We all laughed at that. Eghosa commented, "Well, I'm pretty sure phones don't work like that in space."
"I believe there's this thing called a camera? They come in many varieties. Polaroid, digital, that sort of thing." Avalon laughed.
"Yeah, we'll definitely consider it. The launch is scheduled for tomorrow, so as you would imagine, we kinda have to be quick here," I explained.
"Guess I better leave then," Avalon said, sighing. "Well, have fun. And good luck."
"Thanks," we all replied.
We're really going to need it.

Meanwhile, I chose to spend my time preparing with Sam, Heath, and Jack. I'm kind of Sam's second-in-command, and so I decided that rather than spend time with the other girls, I could make some last-minute plans and decisions with Sam to help make our travelling smoother. It's hard to explain.
"So, how exactly are we sneaking on again? I'm still a bit confused," I asked him as we sat at his living room table. Sam had his chromebook out and currently had a document of notes that he put down, which we were going over.
"It is a bit complicated, I'll admit that," Sam said. "But I'll explain it again. Heath and I snuck out last night to take a peek at the shuttle and see if there's any possible ways to sneak in. Like, an alternate entrance."
"Mhm," I nodded.
"Now, unfortunately, we could not find anything of that sort. However, Heath determined that it would be possible to stow on board at the last minute, right before our entrance is blocked off and our chances are dashed forever."
