Alright Alex, you can do this. It's just your Global History midterm. No biggie......right? My thoughts were interrupted by someone taping on my shoulder. It was Rae Trudy, my best friend. Her big hazel eyes looked up at me.

"Hey Rae." I greeted her with a smile. "Hi Alex, are you ready for the midterm?" Rae asked. I shook my head. God I hate tests! They always stress me out. Rae apparently read my mind because next thing I knew she had her hand on my shoulder. "Your going to do fine." She said. I smiled and blew a strand of hair out of my face.

A plump looking man came through the door next to me and hushed everyone in the room. "Mrs. Edmund's 1st period class." He yelled. A bunch of students rushed past me and entered the hallway. The man went with them. After a few minutes had passed the man returned. "Mrs. Edmund's 2nd period class." He yelled. Rae turned to me. "That's me. I'll see you in there." She smiled, her thick black hair bounced on her shoulders as she left to join her class. 10 minutes passed and finally the man called my class period. "Mrs. Edmund's 7th period class." He yelled. I followed my fellow classmates out into the hallway.

A table was set up in the middle of the hall. A lady with short blond hair was giving out instructions. "Leave your coats, bags, and electronic devices out here."

I removed my coat and put my phone in my coat pocket. I entered the gym. Desk and chairs were set up in nice straight rows. A bunch of teachers and a police officer were in the front of all the rows. They were instructing students where to sit. I approached Mrs. Edmund for my seat number. "You sit in this row, 19 seats down." She said. I nodded and started counting desks. When I finally reached 19 I sat down and took a deep breath. At least I'm in the back. I thought nervously to myself. I glanced around the room, my eyes stopped on Rae. She sat way across the room from me. She waved when she saw me looking toward her, I waved back.

Mrs. Edmund grabbed a microphone and began to speak, this caused a wave of silence to sweep across the room. Everyone sat quietly at their desks and waited for the okay to start the test. "Good morning everyone. Today you will be taking your Global History Midterm. I hope you all studied." She said smiling. "If anyone has any kind of electronic devices like cell phones, i pods, tablets, anything. Please go put it with your stuff in the hallway now." She looked around the room. No one got up from their seat. "If you need a pencil or pen please raise your hand. Someone will come around. On your test there are 57 multiple choice questions and an essay at the end. You will have at the least an hour and at the most 3 hours. Please take your time and answer all the questions and record them on your scantron sheet. You may begin."

I picked up my pencil and wrote my name on the scantron sheet and test packet. I turned the page to the first question. Which belief system do the four Noble Truths, Buddha, and Nirvana have in common? That's so easy!! I circled B.) Buddhism in the packet and marked it on my scantron sheet.

An hour or so passed, I was now on question 39. I stretched out my fingers then continued. I thought long and hard about the question.

Which refers to an anthropologist?

A.) The study of the origin, physical, social, cultural development, and behavior of humans.

B.) The examination of ancient sites and objects to learn about the past.

C.) The study of the origin, development, and operation of political systems.

D.) The study of the production and distribution of resources, goods, and services.

:-( I HAVE NO IDEA!! Pikachu I choose you. I circled A and continued on.

I was almost to the essay when a woman with a  ton of makeup entered the gym. Everyone looked up at her. Her heels clapped loudly on the wood floor as she ran over to Mrs. Edmund. I saw her whispering something in her ear and then Mrs. Edmund looked right at me. I saw terror in her eyes. Mrs. Edmund pulled away from the woman and started slowly walking toward me. I quickly went back to my work. Mrs. Edmund put her hand on my shoulder. "Alexandra." She whispered. I looked up at her. "Put your pencil down and come with me." She said. "But I'm not done." I protested. "Never mind the test." She replied. I put my pencil down and followed her across the gym. All eyes were on me. I turned to look at Rae. She had the 'what the heck' look on her face. I shrugged my shoulders and entered the hallway. Mrs. Edmund shut the door behind us. I wasn't sure what this was all about, but the one thing I was sure of was that it was important enough to pull me out in the middle of taking an exam. I stood there patiently waiting.
