Ashton's POV
There are no words to describe how I am feeling at the moment. A few examples would be empty and broken like there is nothing left of me. But these examples are nowhere near strong enough. It had only been a few hours but without her I feel like I don't belong. Without her I can't breathe. Without her I don't want to. I cannot exist without her she is my world, and now she's gone. I'd die for her.
I was sat in the guest room that I was allocated by Michael strumming away on one of his guitars. I had my notebook out and was scribbling down random words when the inspiration came to me. The guys had finally left me to mull in my own thoughts half an hour ago. I know they are worried but I felt like I needed space to breathe. After dwelling over the past two months in my head, I think I realised something wasn't right. However I chose to ignore it. After being home from tour I wasn't feeling my best anyway and didn't want to make myself worse.
I got to a point where nothing was sounding right so I sang the first thing that came to mind.

'Who will fix me now,
Darling when I'm down,
Save me from myself don't let me drown,
Who will make me fight,
Drag me out alive,
Save me from myself don't let me drown'

I put Michael's guitar to one side and grabbed my phone. I search through my contacts for my mums number. Once I found it I took a deep breath and pressed the call button. I stood up and walked around the room in an attempt to stretch my legs. 'Hey Ash' my sister answered almost straight away. Lauren and my brother Harry missed it when I wasn't home and Paisley, they loved Paisley. Lauren treated her as if she was her sister. 'Hi Lauren, where's mum?' I managed to reply. The realisation of why I was phoning becoming all too much. I lent against the wall. 'She's driving. Are you okay Ash?' she sounded concerned. 'Yes Lauren, i'm okay. How is everyone there?' I say, trying to change the subject but struggling to hold back my tears. 'We are all fine, missing you. You sound upset Ash. What's wrong?' She replied. Slowly I slid down the wall bringing my knees to my chest hugging them for comfort. 'It's over.' I cried, the floodgates opening once again. 'Over? What's over Ash?' Lauren says starting panicking. At that point I hear footsteps running up the stairs and Calum bursts into the room. Without hanging up I put my phone on the floor and cried into my knees.

Calum's POV
I was sat in the living room talking to Michael and Luke about what had happened with Ashton. We had all decided there was nothing we could do about it. However Luke still wanted to talk to Paisley, what she had done was unforgivable. All of sudden I heard a cry from upstairs and I ran to find out what was going on. I took the stairs two at a time and ran to the room where the cry had come from. There I found Ashton in the corner of the room on the floor with his knees to his chest crying. 'Mate, what's happened?' I asked panicked. He just pointed to his phone. I picked it up and pressed the home button to see what he was on about. It light up and I saw his mum was still on the line. I quickly put it to my ear 'Hello' I said. 'Calum thank God, Lauren is worried about Ash, she said he was upset. What is going on?' Anne answered concerned. 'Hold on one minute Anne' I said hurriedly. I called Michael up to look after Ashton, while I went into the guest bedroom next door to Ashton's. 'Hello Anne' I continued. 'Cal, what's going on?' She said seriously. I proceeded to tell them what had happened that morning. 'Is he okay?' Anne asked when I had finished explaining. 'Do you want the honest answer to that question?' I ask cautiously. 'I'm going to take that as a no then.' I heard her sniff on the other end of the phone. 'Listen Anne, he's in pieces, he is broken. The only person who can help Ashton now is himself. He will be okay but it is going to take a long time. He is in love with her, he was going to ask her to marry him and now the future he pictured is gone. All we can do is be there for him if he needs us and help him move on in any way that we can.' I encouraged. I heard Ashton's mum took a deep breath on the other end of the line 'Can you put Ash on please Cal?' Anne whispered. 'Of course let me just go and see what is going on. But he will be okay.' I reassured him. 'I know he will, he is stronger then he thinks. Thank you Cal you are a good friend to my son.' Anne said gratefully.

Michael's POV
I ran upstair as Calum yelled down and he met me outside the bedroom Ashton was using. 'What happened?' I asked worried. 'Ash phoned to tell his Mum what had happened, Lauren answered it all got a bit too much I think. Can you keep him company well I explain to Anne what's going on?' Cal asked, we both shared the same look of worry on our faces. 'Yes of course' I replied, and proceeded to walk into the room Ashton was in. I crouched down beside the mess that was Ashton and put a hand on his shoulder for comfort. 'Ash it'll be okay, come on mate.' I encouraged. Ashton looked up, I could see his eyes were raw red from the amount of crying he had done. 'Why did it have to happen? Why now? I love her Michael. I can't lose her. She's my whole world. I can't live without her' Ashton sobbed. 'Yes you can!' I encouraged. 'I can't Michael, I'm nothing without her.' Ashton whimpered. 'Yes Ash, you can. It might not feel like it right now but you can. You have all of us here to support you and help you get through this time. I can only imagine what you are going through right now Ash. But it will be okay and you will get through this. Yes you loved her and yes you wanted to marry her, but at the end of the day thats her loss. It will take time, but it will be okay. Everything happens for a reason.' I finish still looking Ashton in his hazel brown eyes. Calum came in moments later 'Ash, your mum wants to talk to you' he said handing the phone over.

Ashton's POV
'Everything happens for a reason' Michael finished his big speech. I didn't know what to say so I was thankful when Calum burst through the door. 'Ash, your mum wants to talk to you' he said handing the phone over. 'Hi Mum' I say, 'Hey Ash, Cal told us everything, i'm sorry son.' Mum replied sounding upset. 'Thanks Mum' was all I could reply. 'Why don't you come home for a few weeks you're on a break now and we all miss you. It'll take your mind off everything for a while.' my Mum encouraged. 'That sounds like a nice idea, I'm gonna see if the guys will come too?' I ask, feeling like I shouldn't be surrounded by my own thoughts at the moment especially on the long flight back. 'That'll be good, it'll be nice for them to see their families.' She said cheerily. 'Tell Lauren i'm sorry if I worried her' I reply apologetically. 'She's okay, you know what she's like. But know if you need us we are a call away and you can always come home whenever you want.' Mum reassured. 'I know Mum, thanks' I try to sound a little happier but it wasn't really working. 'So we'll see you and the guys in a few days then?'. 'Yes Mum, we'll see you soon' I replied. 'I love you Ash, we all do don't ever forget that.' Mum said sincerely. 'I love you all too Mum. Bye' I replied in a whisper. 'Bye Son' Then the line went dead. More tears were threatening to flow over my eyelids, but I wasn't going to let them win. 'Guys? Do you guys fancy heading back to Australia for a few weeks?' I asked, knowing the reply would be positive. 'Of course I've been want to go home for a while.' Michael answered. 'Our families are going to be so happy so see us.' Luke smiled.
