Andie's cheeks were hurting by the time Scott managed to pull himself free of the grip of his manager.

"Honestly, Scott, thank you so much," David gushed for the one hundredth time since Scott had managed to disassemble the set up.

"I know, it's fine," Scott replied grumpily, cheeks starting to burn a little as the barely contained giggles of Andie reached his ears. "Let me go." David reluctantly pulled back, peering up at him with an overly excited look.

"They loved you! Did you hear them?"

"Yeah, but that was a bunch of twenty year old girls – they cheer whenever I smile at them." As if to emphasize his point he stared deliberately at Andie who raised her coffee cup and whooped. Scott nodded. "See?"

David looked over his shoulder, taking in the sight of Andie still sitting there, now checking her phone for a doomsday text – aka a call to taxi her drunken friends from bar to bed.

"Oh, I thought everybody had left," he mused, looking around at the otherwise empty café. "It's after closing time," he murmured a little anxiously, forcing Scott to bite back a laugh.

"She doesn't fully understand the concept," he teased, while David simply sighed. "Don't worry, I'm sure she's going now." Scott patted his softhearted manager on the shoulder, moving off now to confront their lingering guest. She laughed as he approached.

"So your boss is a hugger, I take it?" She teased, causing Scott to groan as he took the seat opposite her once again.

            "Shut up."

"Make me." Scott's eyebrows rose and a smirk tugged the corner of his mouth upwards.

"You wish," he joked, relaxing into the chair as he looked down at the empty coffeehouse. He could see Greta ushering Shawn and the other baristas towards the door, practically dragging David by the scruff of his neck as he resisted her force.

"Scott! We're going home, lock up when you leave," she called, putting a deceptive singsong tone into her words. Scott bolted upright in protest.

"Greta, I am not-" his words clung onto her back as she exited the café, leaving him standing with clenched fists and a look of disbelief on his face. Andie sipped her now cold coffee.

"Here we are again," Andie said with a grin while he slowly fixed her a glare.

"Whatever I did in a past life to deserve this, I'm sorry for it," Scott muttered to no one in particular, though Andie smiled anyway.

"Don't be so dramatic," she sighed, stretching her legs out in a bid to make herself more comfortable while he just stared incredulously.

"When should I expect the moving van with your boxes?"

"I want it to be a surprise," she teased back. Scott gave up trying as he looked at the clock.

Soft yellow light illuminated its face as the hands ticked ever so slowly, edging closer to eleven as Scott shook his head. Andie watched the way the light hit the highpoints of his face and absent-mindedly wondered why he had been blessed with cheekbones she could only attempt to achieve with heavy makeup. His eyelashes were surprisingly dark, she noted, given the light blonde hair pushed back on his head. They matched his eyebrows, maybe two or three shades darker than his honey coloured locks and a thought occurred to her.
