~Nallie POV ~

I kept writing in my journal with my fluffly pen and I'm leaning on Carter's shoulder .

Carter ? , I asked him .

Do you hate me , I asked him looking up at him .

I don't know you hate me , he said touching my hair .

Ya I know , I said .

And what the heck are you doing to my hair ?? , I asked him .

I'm stroking it you never had your hair stroke ?? , he asked confused .

Well once .. , I said .

Oh , he said .

No no its ok , I said not trying to make him sad .

No no I'm not sad it 's just strange , when was your last boyfriend ? , he asked me .

Wow already talking about relationships , I said .

Sorry , he said .

Its ok I guess , 4 years ago , and I haven't had a boyfriend since then . , I said .

Oh I'm sorry I shouldn't ask , He said really sadly .

Carter don't be sad about it , why do I even should have a boyfriend , I'm too ugly to have a boyfriend , I know , I know your gonna say I'm pretty and stuff but that doesn't work for me , Why should I even try to get a boyfriend , I'm going to get used and dumped anyway , I was on the verged of tears , I'm just --- going to get heartbroken ---- again .

Then before I knew it Carter pulled me into a tight hug .

Nallie , I'm so sorry for bring this up , You didn't have to talk about it , you didn't have to say anything , shush don't cry , he said to me calmy and gently .

I need to stop , I hated his guy , why am I in his arms crying thinking about my past , boys are selfish and rude and idiots , I'm not going to let them use me , I pushed Carter off and go to the fountain and scoop up some water and wash out my face.

I turn around and Carter is still sitting there with a really sad look on his face.

I turned back around and continue to wash my face out.

I looked at my reflection in the water and smacked it

Why would anyone want this , I thought to myself.

I felt a hand on my shoulder.

I looked up and it was Carter.

He gave me a towel  , where did he get the towel from ? , oh he musta found it in my tote that I carried with my diary and pen inside . so I dried my face.

Thank you , I said folding the towel.

Your welcome , he said.

How many more minutes do we have left before school starts back again ? , I asked him.

Umm thirty minutes , he said looking at his watch.

Ok , I said.

Nallie I'm just so - , said Carter trying to finish his sentence.

Carter it's ok I've shed more tears than this , you don't have to comfort me , I'm used to it , I said looking away.

Nallie - ,

Carter stop , I said in determine.

He looked at me and then looked away.

Carter - , I said.

Nallie , said Carter

Carter thanks for comforting me but that never works , I said truthfully.

Oh , was all he said and was still looking away.

Then a smile spread on my face.

Carter , I said again and I moved closer to him basicly a cemimeter away from his face.

I leaned on his shoulder and looked at him with sad puppy eyes.

Carter only glanced at me.

Carter come up please don't be sad , I said as I slowly turn his face with my hand.

He looked at me. And kept on looking at me.

Ugh how do girls seduce boys gosh must of taken 20 years just to get a boy to fall for them , I thought

He snaked his arm around me and laid his head on my head.

Carter ... Please don't be sad , I said

I'm not sad , he said.

I closed my eyes and pretended to be on a cloud.

By the way .... Nice on trying to seduce me , he said.

I open my eyes and lift my head up and look at him.

I almost fell for it them I remember you hate it when I was near you , he said.

Man. , I said looking away.

Haha don't be mad I almost fell for it , you did a good job , he said moving closer to me .

I moved a little bit away from him . Then he moved closer . Then I moved away . Then he moved closer to me . Then I moved away . Then he moved closer . Then I fell .

Sorry are you ok ? , he asked me .

Ya , I said .

Then he helped me up .

Um we should start helding back , I said gathering up my journal and pen .

But we only have 20 minutes ! , he whined .

That means so I won't forgot my books yeah ! , I said in sarcasm .

Shut up and lets go , he said giving me a push .

Hey ! don't push me ! , I said .

He pushed me again a little bit harder .

Don't you think about it ! , I said to him sternly .

He pushed me again and I fell over ! , Then he caught me .

Did I scare cha ? , he asked smirking .

Shut up and lets go , I said .

I started walking .

Yes ! I did scare cha ! , he said .

No you didn't !! , I shouted back .

Your in denial !! , he shouted fast towards me .

No I'm not , I said walking .

Then we went to my locker and I got my things ready .
