It was a cold and rainy night on April 1st, 1997. A dark blue Nissan drove through the watered covered road on the country side in Tokyo. A tall man with dark black hair and blue eyes drove the car. He wore a white dress shirt with a leather jacket, jeans, and dress shoes. A woman sat in the passenger seat of the car. She had long dark brown hair and brown eyes. She wore a t-shirt and sweat pants, had layers of blankets wrapped around her, and she wore her night slippers.
"Just down this road. It won't be long now." said the man.
"Yoshi? Are you sure about this?" asked the woman.
"Of course I am sure. I'm just as worried as you are, but I am sorry. This is our only option." assured Yoshi.
"Are you sure he can be trusted?" asked the woman.
"Yes Shan Shan. He is an old family friend. He will help us," said Yoshi. "He will watch over our daughter."
Shan Shan looked down at the small being that was cradled in her arms. It was wrapped up in a harm sky blue blanket. She was fast asleep, unaware of the danger that was happening with her family. Yoshi took a hand off of the steering wheel, and held his wife's face, wiping away a few tears from her face. They both knew their daughter would be safe, but this was going to be a hard thing to do.
Yoshi drove up the road and up a steep hill and stopped the car. They arrived at a large and wide building that resembled a dojo. Yoshi powered off the car and looked over at his wife, Shan Shan.
"It's time." he said.
Shan Shan gave her baby daughter one last hug, squeezing her tight. She then handed her over to Yoshi, who stepped out of the vehicle and into the pouring rain. He ran up the large set of stairs and up to the front door, shielding the baby from the rain.
The baby girl awoke, but did not cry from the sight. She let out a few whimpers, not liking the rain splash on her face. Yoshi knocked on the door and anxiously waited for someone to answer, while he tried to calm down the baby.
Finally the giant doors opened inward and a man greeted Yoshi. He was older than Yoshi, about ten years older with Yoshi being in his early fourties. The old man was slightly smaller than Yoshi, he wore a white and blue kendo training outfit and wooden sandles, with socks. "Yoshi! It's been so long. What are you doing here?" asked the old man.
Yoshi bowed to the old man in respect, then showed him the baby. "It's happening again. Me and Shan Shan fear it is more dangerous than before. I fear we may never see the light of day again. Will you watch over her for us?" asked Yoshi.
The old man looked down at the baby girl, bright brown eyes looking up at him and her father. "Is this what you and Shan Shan truely want?" asked the old man. "Two lives, for one life?"
"Yes, Sensei."
The old sensei nodded in understanding and extended his hands forward. "I will do what I can." said the old man.
Yoshi gave him another bow, being grateful for the Sensei's choice, then handed over his baby daughter. "Go and hurry. Get as far away as you can." ordered the Sensei.
"Yes Sensei." replied Yoshi.
He bowed again and he took off down the stairs and into his car. The lights came on and the car backed itself down the hill, then took off through the road, vanishing into the stormy night.
The baby let a few more whimpers as the Sensei closed the main doors and proceeded through the house. "Hush now little one you are safe." said the Sensei.
