"Seriously Drift I thought you were going to be supportive?" Hina asked with a slight tease.
"I-I'm trying." He managed to choke out, as most of his voice was focused on his laugter. "I-I'm s-" he cut himself with another round of laughter. "I'm-sorry, Hina." He apologized, calm down slightly, but still taking in those ghasping half laugh breaths as he spoke.
Hina looked up at the holoform with a strange look on his face. She has never seen him laugh so hard before. Once he finally calmed down, he walked over and helped Hina up.
Drift sighed one last time, before clapping his hands together in a business-like matter. "So." He began, not sure how else to being. "Transforming is like... well, you obviously know what it's like... but it's actually a really good thing... at times." He began, watching Hina to see how she would react to this. He had some serious doubts she would agree to this.
"A good thing?" she asked.
Drift nodded. "A good thing." He repeated. "The whole point of it is to help you defend yourself, and others, although it has had other uses that have developed over time. However, it still remains how we are such capable warriors." He explained, before teasingly punching her shoulder lightly as not to trigger anything.
Hina flinched at first, but once nothing was triggered she calmed down.
Drift smiled, seeing as how nothing happened. Her body was adapting, which was only a part of the process, but it was helpful nonetheless. "Just like that." Drift joked, hoping she got the jest. "That's one of my strongest blows. You alright?" He added, trying to make a little humor out of the situation to make it easier for her.
"Yeah, I think I'm okay." Hina replied.
No laughter. Oops. Drift shrugged off his disappointment and proceeded to continue his lecture. "When you first gain the ability to transform, it's highly sensitive, therefore making your mind see almost everything as a threat, therefore, making you transform every time your mind panics. Which is why, maintaining a calm Demeanour is absolutely necessary." He said.
Drift nodded. Now she was getting it. "Just push all thoughts of danger aside, not entirely, but remind yourself what everything around you is until you've drilled into your process - I mean, brain, that somethings are not dangerous."
"Hey guys!"
Hina nearly jumped but used every muscle in her body to make sure she didn't transform. Louie peered through the hall, glancing at the two. "The guys and I are going to a movie, you in?"
"Sorry Louie, me and 'Rick' have plans." she answered.
Plans. Heh. Drift really hoped it didn't sound as wrong as it did in his awful corrupted processor. "But not those kinds of plans!" He cut in. "She's telling me about the roller coasters. Like um... that space something?" He said, trying to remember the name of the coaster he'd heard Lennox mention all that time ago.
"Space Mountain?" corrected Hina.
"Yes! That's it, that's the one." 'Rick' said.
"That's totally the one. It sounds super scary!" He said, appearing anxious for the effect of it.
"Oh, well then I'll let you two get back to it." said Louie as he left.
The moment the door closed, again, drift groaned, burying his holoform's face in his hands. "Come on. You and I need to try something away from prying eyes. Got any big open, but concealed areas in mind?" He asked, a plan formulating in his processor. He would try to scare her to see how she might react on roller coasters.
"We could try Bamboo park again. There's a big open area at the centre of the park." Explained Hina.
Drift thought for a moment, before nodding. "That'll work. As long as nobody will see us, it'll be fine." He replied, hoping the answer would be a yes, or else things would get just that more complicated.
