  "(Your name)?"

"Yes, sir?" You stopped mopping the floor for a second to look at Luciano Vargas, your employer. You were his maid. His magenta eyes looked into yours, making you melt on the inside. You loved everything about him, from his auburn hair with a single curl sticking out of the left side of his head, his smooth, tanned skin to the elegant way he walked, or did anything.

"I've told you, bella, call me Luciano. Anyways, you've been working yourself to the bone for-" You sighed and tore your gaze from the magestic purple feather sprouting from his dark brown hat.

"You've said this before, and I've told you that I have to do something to make it feel like I'm not a burden to this household. Besides, I'm your maid. It's my job to 'work myself to the bone'." He sighed and crossed his arms.

"Even my fratelli agree that you need a break." You stood there and looked at him.

"Why are you trying so hard?" The question took him by surprise.

"Uh, I-I mean, uh, you've been doing so much work for me." You giggled. You had never seen him so flustered.

"Seriously, tell me. I know when you're lying. I've been living with you for five years."

"Well... ti amo..."

"What?" Despite knowing a lot of Italian from staying with Luciano, Flavio, and Sebastian, you had never heard this phrase.

"I love you. I was going to confess with a bunch of flowers and candles and romantic music playing, but-"

"I don't need a fancy confession like that! I-I love you too, Luciano." Your face was tomato red, but you giggled and tried to kiss him on the cheek. He smirked and turned his head so that you kissed him fully on the lips. You pulled away and tried to hide your blush.

"Someone's eager."

"Sh-shut up!" He chuckled and pulled you into a passionate kiss. When he pulled away, you fidgeted and stared at the ground.

"So, why don't we go to that restaurant in downtown tonight?"

"Why don't we just watch Netflix and chill tonight for our first date?" He arched an eyebrow and smirked.

"I did not mean that."

"Are you sure?" You rolled your eyes.

"Yes, I'm sure. Should I finish cleaning off the bloodstains on the floor?"

"Lutz can take care of that. Come on, mio amore." He walked with you to his room, his combat boots clicking on the linoleum and his leather clad hands tucked into his the pockets of his brown military uniform.

And that is how you ended up watching Worst Cooks In America with Luciano because it was hilarious to watch the contestants try to cook. You sat with him on the hot pink couch (Flavio had bought it), a red blanket draped over your body.

"We're-a makin' the-a pizza," was heard from one of the contestants, Bennett, as he tried to imitate an Italian accent. It actually happened on the show. Instantly, you burst into laughter.

"Oh my god! Do you talk like that sometimes?"

"Sta 'zitto." You continued giggling, until he growled and crushed his lips onto yours, muffling any sounds you were making. Your eyes widened and you were silent, causing him to smirk and pull away. You blushed and looked back at the screen. He smirked.

"What's wrong, mio amore? You can't handle a bit of affection?" You blushed and looked away.

"N-no... it's just that this is actually my first time going on a date with someone who actually seemed like he didn't want to just take advantage of me." Something flashed in his eyes. You gulped. You knew that look. It was the look that he got when he was going to kill someone.

"Really? What are their names?" He asked this innocently, as if he didn't have any thoughts about killing anyone in his mind.

"Luciano, you don't have to kill them."

"Who said I was going to do that?"

"Do you promise you won't?" He sighed.

"I can't."

"Exactly."

"But... can you at least tell me about what they did? Just so I can get to know you better?" You couldn't think of any way he could find out who a person was from something they had done to you, so you nodded.

"So... there was one guy, and he acted kind of creepy on our first date. So, I just told him that it wasn't going to work out, and he seemed okay with that. But then, I began getting these creepy texts from an unknown number and I had the feeling I was being stalked. And, um, one day, he cornered me in a library bathroom and tried to-to rape me."

"What?!" He was trembling with rage.

"Calm down, Luciano."

"How can I calm down when there were these people doing unspeakable things to you?"

"People have also done 'unspeakable things' to you." He sighed and looked into your eyes, his magenta gaze burning into you. He leaned forward and whispered into your ear.

"Giuro che finché io vivo, io ti proteggerò con la mia vita," He murmured, his breath tickling your ear.

"O-okay." He chuckled softly and pulled away.

"Let's just finish this episode, and we can go to sleep." You nodded and looked back at the TV, pink dusting your cheeks.
