Karma's POV
After my encore class, research writing, I started thinking about Death. Why did I say yes? I have to break up with her. No you shouldn't. But I don't like her like that! Yes you do. No, SHE likes me like that. Ugh, fine. So it's settled. I'll break up with her then. Jeez, you've only been dating for like, half an hour. Too bad. I frowned. I kept arguing with myself over this. Once I got into the classroom, Death was talking to Life, Romance, and Literature. I walked up slowly. "Can I steal her for a moment?" I pointed to Death. She walked with me to the other side of the room, and I heard a few garbled murmurs about Narnia from Life and Literature. Look, Death, I need to talk to you." She looked up from the ground. "Then, talk! That's what we're doing now, right?" I frowned at her. "You know... how you asked me out, then I said sure?" She nodded. "Well, you see, I only said sure because I couldn't say no... because all your friends were watching, and it would've been really awkward." She looked sad, and started to cry a little. Not, like sobbing, but still crying. I knew she liked me, but not that much. "So, I don't think we should be together, okay?" She put her face in her hands and started to shake. "Death?"

Life's POV
I looked over at Death and Karma to see what was going on, and saw Death's shoulder's shaking. Oh, no... This could be bad. I ran over to Death, and yelled at Karma, "What did you do?!" He looked angry at me. "Jeez, I only asked for a little privacy!" I shook my head and tried to calm Death down. "No. You did something that made Death..... emotional. Now, what happens when prodigies get emotional? Their powers go out of control!!!!" I yelled. Suddenly Death started to cry even more, and Karma collapsed on the floor. "Ohmigawd!" Death looked up for a second to see what had happened, and saw Karma on the floor. "Oh no..... Oh no! What did I do?!" She started to back away. Literature ran over. Oh no, was she gonna have a fit. "Karma? Karma! Karma! Are you alive?! Karma?!" She checked his wrist for a pulse. "He's gone." She sniffed. She had told me a while ago that she liked him. I turned around to talk to Death, and she had gone out of the room. Literature was in histerics. "Someone get a teacher!" I ran out the door to find Death.

Romance's POV
When I heard Literature and Life freaking out across the room, I ran over to see what happened. I figured that maybe someone tripped or fainted or got sick, but noooooooo. I ran over to see Literature crying, holding Karma's lifeless hand, and Life running out of the room. Death was gone. I tried to use my powers to help Literature feel better, but her hysterics were too strong against my powers. I knelt down next to Literature on the ground. She whispered something inaudible. "What?" I asked calmly. "Go get a teacher!!" She yelled at me, and started to get even more hysteric. I ran towards the door way and into the room next door for Mrs. W, trying to explain what had happened.

Life's POV
I searched the hallway for Death, when I heard someone crying in the bathroom by the stairwell. I ran in to find Death sitting at the sink. "Death?" I asked cautiously. "Go away." I walked in sternly. "No, I won't." She backed away when I stepped closer to her. "Go away! I told you to go away! Why don't you ever listen!" "I'm not leaving until you calm down." "Calm down? CALM DOWN! I just killed a guy, Life! Not just a guy, but the one I like! Obviously you wouldn't understand. You're Life for crying out loud! No one ever had to tell you you were dangerous or fatal or mean or terrible or bad..." She started crying again. "Look, you really need to calm down. Not just for your sake, but for everyone else's. Remember what the principal said? She said our powers can be FATAL. And when you get emotional, your powers go nuts. And when fatal powers go nuts, people die Death. You can't just burst like this. I know, it's not fair. It's not fair that you have to shut down your emotions, but it's reality. So face reality, calm down, and get back in the classroom. Now." I hated being stern with her. "No." I stared her down. "No? No?! Death, people could get hurt!" I was angry now. Keep it together, Life. "No. I'm done trying to keep it under control. I'm done trying to push my powers away. It felt good finally using them. There. I said it. It felt good." She crossed her arms. "It felt, good?! You killed Karma, Death! I don't think you understand how bad that is!" She uncrossed her arms and started walking towards me. "I don't think you understand how powerful I am..."
