Dear diary,
Today was one of the worst and the best days of my life.
As I told you earlier, I love watching Ron in his room. Today, he was acting really weird. Maybe even upset. I was constantly staring at him through these two layers of windows. One mine, one his.
He was gawking something sitting on his bed. It may be was his phone. Earlier, he constantly was on his phone with his girlfriend but I couldn't see or hear them talk today.
I wonder what had happened.
Maybe they broke up. Oh Jesus!
That should not happen, I really like that guy, and I can't afford to see him upset. That would make me upset. But after that something really really queer happened. He stood up and looked at my window. He was looking straight ahead. Like he was watching me. But my room has black window panes... Maybe he was just staring into nothingness. But it felt good. Imagining that he was looking at me.
Ah! You know what dear diary,
I think I must stop imagining. All of my imaginations are just what they are... Imaginations!
I should not think much about him or anything but me and Billy but it is hard to do that when you have an angel living next door.
Be patient dear diary,
I know you are waiting for that worst part, which is bound to come. Duh!
OK, so here it is. When I was looking at Ron and he was looking at nothingness, which pretty obviously seemed like he was looking at me... Billy entered the room. Without even knocking. He just thrashed in. Like a rude person, which he is.
He looked at me starting out the window. And he looked at Ron staring at me.
He got furious, he thought we were talking or something. He thought i told Ron about it all. He thought that he was going to be in trouble. So he shouted. He shouted loudly. He slapped me, he punched me. He took a vase and hit me again. I got another bruise. The last one on my temple hasn't still healed and now I have another one. He pulled my hair. I couldn't control this much pain...I shouted back. I cried. I moaned in pain.
I shouldn't shout, that's what Billy says. but I couldn't stop. He closed my mouth with his hands.
This torment continued for a few minutes before I heard a siren.
It was police. They showed up at our house. It was weird, and it never happened. Billy released me at once. He had too.
He went down to open the door. He must be nervous, as he didn't even ask me to go hide in the closet like he always do.
I welcomed the chance and went downstairs behind him.
And God! What I saw couldn't be real. There was police, no doubt. But there was Ron with them too. He seemed fearless and a bit concerned.
Billy greeted the policemen and asked what's the matter.
"This gentleman," replied, the officer, pointing towards Ron, "said he heard someone shouting in this house. Which sounded much like a physical torment."
Colour drained out of Billy's face. He couldn't say more. He cleared the sweat from his forehead.
"Oh...no. officer, there...there is" he was stuttering like hell, it was fun to watch him like that.
Just then, Ron noticed me, hiding on the staircase.
His eyes grew wide when he saw the latest bruise on my arm. The blood was dripping wildly.
He looked shattered. He came running to me and held my arm high. Officers followed him. Ron touched my wound a little bit. I winced with pain.
"Will you," the officer said, to Billy. "try to explain this?"
Billy was speechless. He couldn't come up with anything to say.
He hung his head low.
"Officer, it isn't what it looks like." I said. Every pair of eyes ended up on me.
"Really, Ellie. You should be explaining things. They're is no hiding it."Ron shouted.
Dear diary, I want to confess something. I feel like grunting when he call me that.
"I am not hiding anything."
"Please, Eleanor. Tell em." He insisted.
One of the officers placed a hand on his chest and pushed him backward.
"You can not force the girl. If she feels something. She will tell, without any pressure."
I nodded in agreement.
Everyone looked at me keenly. There was a warning sign in Billy's eyes. I sighed.
"I was playing with a vase in my room when it hit me. I was shouting out of pain."
"Is it true?"the officer asked Billy.
He looked at me with shock, he definitely imagined me ratting him.
"Y-yes. Yes, officer. It is true. I was only calming her down and trying to help her." He said.
The officer nodded, "are you sure you are hiding nothing, young lady?"
I nodded, then after exchanging sorry and goodbyes, they strolled off.
And of course, Ron did not go with them.
He kept looking at me. I became conscious.
"Billy?" He asked, "who is this girl by the way... We are your neighbors, and you never told us." He said calmly.
"Uh... Ron. She is my sister's daughter. Came here just today. She will go back in the evening. Came for a visit, only." He said.
Like he would cover up. Even he knew that he was lying to no one. Almost everyone in the region knew how long have I been here.
Ron didn't push it further. He formally shook hands with me, and Billy. And he went out. I don't know when I will be ever seeing him again.
Oh Ron!
