Ron was lying on his bed. He just couldn't stop thinking about Leona. And how she betrayed him.
Shawn was a nice guy. At least he had portrayed so in front of him always. He never caught any suspicion on him. Shawn seemed like a perfectly normal friend. Not like the one who would kiss his girlfriend at his back and say, "anything for you, bro," at his face.
Be it anything, Shawn would be the perfect soft toy for Leona if she's now bored with Ron.
He probably was going to buy her a convertible ferrari on her upcoming birthday. He would take her to his countryside farmhouse and make love to her. He would teach her to ride one those beautiful horses his father owned. He would probably plan an extravagant party on his millions-of-bucks-worth father. He would have wine and champaign on the menu instead of cheap beer. He would take her to his other mansion in Paris and show her how the world looked from the top of the Eiffel tower.
But...he wouldn't steal M&Ms from the local grocery store for her like Ron did, it was really fun, and Leona loved them. He would, instead, buy her the most expensive pack of chocolates kept in diamond studded gold plated boxes, from some company with unpronounceable names.
He would make her a living Disney princess.
He could stuff her pillow with dollar build in case she thinks it's not soft enough.
Duh...Dollar bills can't buy sleep. A cozy arm wrapped around her body would.
He could give her that cozy arm.
But he imagined if he wanted to be that anymore. He imagined if he wanted to be that for Eleanor.
Look, he was thinking about Eleanor again. When would he stop doing that.
When would he learn to be the right thing at the right time.
Shawn.
Was Shawn something that Ron wasn't.
Shawn seemed perfect. A rich popular brat.
Shawn was smart and handsome looking. Ron too was that.
Shawn was popular. Ron too was popular. He was the captain of the school varsity football team. Ron was the captain of the science congress.
Shawn was rich, very. Ron was just rich enough to buy a burger from his favourite take out anytime he wanted. Not more than that.
Can being rich change everything?
Ron couldn't think of anything to do. Should he help Leona snap back to reality. Should he explain her how many girls Shawn has dumped just because of his douchy rich kid feelings. Should he tell her that she wasn't going to get any of Shawn's assets for real. Duh.
Should he just sit back and wait for Leona to clear up the mess she made herself. Or should he let her go away, forever.
Should he leave her before she does?
