And so is it, Leona is gone.
Ron thought then and for a few more days to come.
He had been with Leona since the beginning of time. They literally grew up together. From little toddlers who couldn't even pronounce each other's names to sneaking out at night to the bar. From best buddies who won't hesitate to share anything including the Twinkies, to being the person other needs the most. And now, to being the person the other would never want to see again.

Ron felt a shiver run down his spine. Even though Leona was catching rumors alot lately, it was hard for him to believe anything. And as for Leona, she didn't even ask Ron about the matter. Breaking up at the first chance she got. From Leona's side that was too fast and smooth to be called emotional. It was something else.
He picked up his diary to write Something as he always did, but the pen would just slip from his grips. Like it was refusing to transfer the thoughts Ron was having for those would be too painful to read.
He felt a tear trickle down his cheek and landing on the point where his pen touched the paper. Oozing out the ink and spreading it aimlessly on the paper.
He sighed.

The word spread quickly. Ron was a popular kid and everything happening around him was just a piece of free pastry for the whole high school. He noticed everything.
From the increased waves and smiles he got outside the gym locker to the unexpected empathy from just anyone.
He was taking out his sneakers from the locker when someone knocked on his locker door.
It was Kylie. She definitely needed explanation. Between Ron and Leona, she was the one who got used as a bait.
"Kylie I am really sorr-"
"You don't need to, Ron. I get it. It's completely fine. We can still see each other though, right?"
Ron opened his mouth to say something but quickly shut it again.
"I mean as friends." She extended her hand for a shake.
Ron took it. "Friends." He repeated, more to himself.
