CHAPTER 43 - I'm a terrible mother

"you guys have a date of your wedding already?" Monica asked, "not the exact date, but we want to wait until Tobias will be at least one," Sebastian took him into his arms, "he doesn't look any better," he was worried, "he's been having cough all week and he's got fever," Elena yawned, "and you didn't sleep all week, am I right?" Monica looked at her and Elena just nodded, "he cries every night," Sebastian put Tobias back into the crib, "and he is sleeping, finally," "I think he caught something," Elena said, "he'll be okay, just give him time and some medicine," "I know, but it's really painful to see him sick, he has been sick few times, but not like this," "you should go to see a doctor then," "I already called him and he's got time tomorrow, but maybe Tobias will be better," Sebastian smiled. Elena was really tired and felt asleep on the couch. Sebastian took her to bed and went back to Monica. "excited?" she asked, "about the wedding? or tomorrows doctor's appointment?" he laughed, "about the wedding of course," "I'm excited, I want to marry her as soon as possible, but we agreed we'll wait. I've got another role and I guess I'll have to leave for another filming and there's Tobias. It'll be easier when he will be older. She talks about the ideas for our big day all the time, trust me. I can't wait to call her mine, for real," he smiled, "I'm happy that you've found the one Sebastian, you were lost," and he smiled again, "me too."

Monica left and Elena was sleeping. Sebastian wanted to watch TV, but Tobias started crying. "you must be hungry," he took him and put him in chair. Sebastian was trying to feed him, but Tobias refused to eat and continued crying. He sang to him, because it always worked and Tobias was calm. He felt asleep right after another song. "how long I've been sleeping?" Elena walked into the living room, "for a few hours," Sebastian replied, "did he eat something?" "nope. I tried, but he only cried and then fell asleep," "you should go to sleep, you've got work tomorrow," she kissed him, "I'm not tired, I can look after Tobi tonight," "no Seb, you have to be fresh, I'm good," "okay, but you need to sleep too, so tomorrow I'm going to be a sleepless zombie," "good night Sebastian," "I love you," he kissed her and went to their bedroom.

"Sebastian you need to wake up," "what?" he was sleepy, "wake up! We need to go to the hospital, Tobias got worse," Sebastian didn't hesitate for a second and got up from bed, "okay, take him to the car, I'll be right behind you," Elena just nodded and ran for Tobias. Sebastian was scared like the day Tobias was born. They finally got to the hospital and the doctor took their son away. Elena didn't want to leave him, but she had too. She fell into Sebastian's arms and she cried, "I'm a terrible mother," "no, you're not," "I should took him to the doctor earlier Seb," "shhhh, it's not your fault okay? he is going to be fine," "but what if he won't be okay? this is my fault," "don't blame yourself, I'm his father and I should took him to the doctor too, but I thought it's just cold, like you. I promise you, he will be fine, because he's got the strongest and the best mother in the world." Elena continued crying and Sebastian couldn't stand the situation. He was scared too. It was just like last time he was in that hospital.

The doctor finally came. "your son's got Pneumonia. He has to stay here for a couple days, but he will be fine," "thank god," Sebastian hugged Elena, "can we see him?" she asked, "of course, you can sleep here if you want," the doctor said and led them into Tobias's room. He was sleeping in the crib, "I'll stay here with him, if you want to sleep, go home and bring me some clothes tomorrow," Elena looked at Sebastian, "El, I'm not gonna leave," "but you've got work tomorrow," "I'll call them tomorrow and explain them the situation.....I don't want to leave you and Tobias, you are my priority, I want to stay," he took her hand into his and they continued watching their son sleeping peacefully.

They came back home after a few days in the hospital. Sebastian took some day off and was spending his day with Tobias meanwhile Elena was out with Natalie. "I'm hungry, let's grab a lunch," Natalie was complaining, "ehmm okay?" Elena could see, how weird Natalie was acting all day. "so, what's wrong?" Elena took a sip from her cup of coffee, "what? Nothing is wrong," Natalie just shook her head, "tell me.....you've been nervous all day," "I've got some news," "you're pregnant?" Elena asked, "what?! No, I'm not pregnant," Natalie laughed, "but Chris asked me to move in with him," she smiled and Elena was happy because of her friends, "really? that's amazing," "I know and I wanted to ask you to help me with the moving.....it was our apartment after all," "I would be honored to help you, it's a big step," "yeah you know, we've waited for few months, not like you and Seb," Natalie laughed, "really funny," and Elena joined her.

When Elena came home she heard Sebastian talking to their son, "come on Tobias, say dada......da da it's easy," Elena was standing behind him, "hey dada," she smiled and Sebastian literally jumped, "oh god, you scared me" "what you've been up to, dada," "nothing much, just trying to convince him to say dada first," "I'm pretty sure his first word will be something weird" "nope, he will say dada first, trust me, he loves me" "I love you too" they kissed and Elena told him about her plans for the next day.

You're sweet kid," Nat kissed his forehead, "Sebastian was trying to teach him to say dada yesterday, it was hilarious," "I'm pretty sure, that his first word will be Nat," "or maybe something more realistic," Elena laughed, "what? He loves me, so, his first word will be my name," "yeah of course, you're his favorite aunt after all, don't you?" "I'm going to be the one, who's gonna give him his first alcohol," "just don't say that in front of Sebastian, I'm pretty sure he would be angry," "okay, okay, just let's start this whole moving thing."
