"I like your style."

"You sure about his Lex?" Lotus asked me before we entered the drug store. "This will be the second time we've hit this one, this week." I stifled an eye roll.

"Do you want new lipstick and mascara or not?" My tone clipped. I was well aware of how many times we've lifted from here.

"Yes." She dragged out the word.

"Well let's get in and get this shit done. It looks like it's gonna pour any second." We both looked up at the dark sky, the wind blowing our hair and whipping it in our faces.

"You like doing it, don't act like it's only for me." I couldn't hide a smile.

"Maybe just a little." I whispered and made a motion with my fingers. Lotus laughed.

"Adrenaline junkie."

Pulling up the cloth hood on my partial jean jacket, I looked both ways before starting across the road. Lotus keeping pace with me as I went. Reaching the other side, I met Lotus's gaze and put on a smile. It was showtime.

Entering the store, the door hit the little bell signaling our presence. We both had big smiles plastered on our faces as we took in the elderly lady behind the register. Her name was Edna.

Edna always wore makeup. Bright red lip stick and light blue eyeshadow. Her grey hair pulled up into a tight bun on the top of her head and her reading glasses on the tip of her nose.

She was a kind old woman but she had a temper to watch out for. You could see the fiery young woman she used to be in her eyes when you got her on the right subject, which wasn't hard. It was too easy stealing from her, I almost felt bad for doing it. Almost.

"Hello ladies!" She greeted us with a cheerful smile. "Back again?"

"Yeah, gotta stock up on the usual." By usual I meant junk food. Cosmic brownies and Smart Food to be exact.

"How's business today Edna?" Lotus went up and leaned on the counter, settings our routine into motion. She's the distraction.

"Kinda slow today. You girls are the first I've had in over an hour." That's what happens when you own your own rinky dink drug store.

"Thats too bad." I added into the conversation. I'd grabbed our food and was in the process of getting a bottle of soda.

"Yes deary. It's hard to compete with those bigger properties." By bigger she meant Walgreens.

Lotus began to babble about nothing to Edna. Slipping over to the makeup isle, I scanned the brands. If there was one thing Edna kept very well stocked it was the makeup section. Even though her personal was outdated. She had just as much as a Walgreens, better quality though and didn't have video cameras.

Finding the brand's section Lotus wore, I picked up the lipstick she wanted and tested it on my hand. Making it look like I was interested. Spotting the mascara while doing so. This was too easy.

The door chimed again. Glancing over a guy walked in. He had long dark hair, with skinny jeans and a leather jacket to match. He wore black sunglasses as well and greeted Edna with a smile and a friendly hello. That just made this more interesting.

I had to wait for Lotus's signal before I could slide it up my sleeve. I also had to keep an eye on the extra body in the store. He'd gone straight to the coolers, didn't even spare me a glance.
