Distractions

Jake gave us a lift "home" so we didn't get soaked. His car was nice, all black and it seemed to be brand new. I didn't pay attention to the make as I climbed into the backseat. Lotus seemed to be more comfortable with him so I gladly gave her shotgun.

Jake gave us the instructions on the ride. We were to meet him at a bar with an attached strip joint across town. He'd agreed to pick us up if it was still raining, and I hoped it wasn't.

We were to wear something a bit "distracting", sexy was the word he wanted to use, but stopped himself. Lotus and I were to be the distractions while he took the documents. Seemed straightforward and easy enough. He'd didn't give us guidelines of anything else, we had free rein.

Jake got our numbers and gave us his before we got out at our "home." Our apartment was actually a block away from here, I didn't want him knowing where we lived. Before we got out Jake spoke up.

"Hey you're forgetting something." I looked back on the seat to grab whatever it was.

"What?" I asked. I had the grocery bag. I'd given Lotus the makeup before we'd gotten in the car.

"Your money." Jake pulled out three hundred dollar bills from his wallet.

Lotus looked back at me and I nodded. She took the money hesitantly and he smiled. No turning back now.

"See you girls at eight." He flashed us a smile as we got out. "Stay dry." I heard him chuckle as I shut the door. Dick. It was only a light rain now.

Jake didn't linger. He drove away as soon as we got to the side walk. Pulling on my hood, Lotus and I hurried down the street. Neither of us speaking until we got into our apartment.

"What the fuck?" I blurted as I locked the door. Lotus burst into a fit of giggles and held up the money.

Taking it from her I examined the money. Inspecting each one to see if they were real. They were.

"Lex he was hott." Lotus said with a sigh. I rolled my eyes.

"His approach was weird as hell." She nodded.

The whole situation was weird. We just got a job from being good shop lifters. That doesn't happen. Whatever Jake was involved in was bad news, but the thought of tonight's swipe already had my heart pounding. I think Lotus was right, I think I am an adrenaline junkie.

It had thankfully stopped raining and we were almost to the bar. Our heels clicked on the still wet sidewalk. We'd both decided on dresses. Mine was black and Lotus had gone with a blue and white one. I felt skimpy next to her as we walked down the dark street. One thing I was thankful of with all this skin showing was it was at least warm out.

Lotus's dress had quarter sleeves and stopped mid thigh. A white belt sat around her waist. Where as mine had thin straps and had a slightly low neckline. It also had gaps on either side of my waist, showing off my rib tattoo. The skirt was short in the front and back and longer on the sides.

Lotus's wore her pink and blond hair down with simple silver jewelry. She wore her usual bright colored makeup and the new pink lipstick we'd gotten. She reminded me so much more of a babydoll now. She looked adorable, and it sure as hell was going to be a distraction in a bar. A+ for her.
