a/n: it's midnight, i'm crying because the song above makes me so emo, and i'm currently dying because dramione. anyways let's get onto the next chapter...

"kiss me."

those two simple words seemed to have brought ben out from his daze. he hadn't been much of himself lately, ever since his father had died. he remembers clearly that the day after his funeral, he decided to become ben solo again. it took a bit to re-adjust but it was now more than a month later and ben couldn't shake off the feeling of oncoming dread.

"ben..." priya ran her fingers across his arm gently. "are you okay?"

"yeah, i'm fine."

"then kiss me, my starboy."

ben smiled before pressing a gently peck on her lips. when he kissed her he found himself thinking. his thoughts had wandered to his father and his funeral. then he remembered her.

what was her name again?

rey, rey was her name. she was quite something and ben found himself thinking of her more than he should.

ben what is wrong with you? you have a girlfriend

"ben?"

"yeah, priya?"

"are you okay?"

ben nodded his head slowly, noticing the concerned look in her eyes.

"you've been distant lately."

"i'm okay, but i've been thinking of my father lately..." ben admitted, looking down at his hands. "don't worry about it though, i'll cope."

"you know you could talk to me when something is up, right?"

"yeah, yeah. of course."

ben started to get up from the couch, walking towards the coat hanger near the door. he reached out for his coat, bringing it around his body.

"where are you going?"

"to the bakery a few blocks away."

priya smirked in response, giving ben a goofy grin soon after.

"and why is that?"

"to get some sweets for my sweet," ben winked before stepping forward to give her a kiss ontop of her head.

"i'll see you later."

"bye starboy."

then he was gone.

~~~~~~~~~~
it was quite nice that day and ben found  it to be a relief. for the past week the weather had been horrible and very stormy most of the time.
the weather had seemed to reflect his current mood. time hadn't seemed to heal his heart and ben found it to be aggravating. it'd be easier to move on and return to his normal life.
but then again, his life hadn't been normal since the day he saw her. rey was quite something and that's what he hated. why did she leave such an impression on him?
ben tried to shake those thoughts away as he made his way inside the bakery. pushing some of his hair from his face he made his way to the front counter.
"i'd like half a dozen italian lemon cookies."
the person at the counter nodded before freezing as soon as they caught eyes. her face of polite happiness morphed into one of surprise.
"a-anything else?"
ben simply shook his head, "no thank you."
the girl at the counter nodded slowly before walking away to package ben's order. once she was out of his line of vision he finally let out the breath he had been holding for so long.
it was her. it was rey. he had just seen rey.
ben let out a couple more quick breaths before turning to face rey again, who had been standing with his bag in hand. in a hurry he shoved several bills in her palm before grabbing at his bag and rushing out of the place in a hurry.
"your change?"
"keep it."
by the time he'd gotten back outside and a few feet away from the bakery his face was beet red and burning.
he'd seen her, the girl from his father's funeral, and from the look on her face she'd seen him too.
