A Sudden Proposal

A week later (Saturday Night)...
My first week at college flew by fast, and I was looking forward to spending my weekend with my new friends. Anthony, Ian, Sohinki, Lasercorn, Kalel, Melanie, Mari, and I had all become closely knit in the short expanse of a week because we had the luck of all being on the same floor and even sharing some classes. I thought our circle of friends was complete. I certainly had no problem spending the next four years with these great people.
I was brought out of my trance by someone knocking at my door. I was in my room by myself because Mari still had ballet practice and it was the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday. I opened it and Kalel and Melanie were standing in front of me,
"Hey guys, what are you doing here?" I asked them.
"We wanted to know if you wanted to go out tonight?" Melanie asked. As much as I wanted to say yes, I politely declined,
"I'm more in the mood to stay in tonight, but we can all hang out in my room if you want?" I suggested hopefully. As much as I didn't want to go out, I still wanted company. If they said no I'd probably spend the night in Sohinki and Lasercorns room playing Call of Duty. They both nodded excitedly and I retreated back into my room with them in tow, Kalel closing the door behind her. They say next to eachother on Maris bed facing me and I lounged on mine. They both looked at me with expressions of excitement,
"What are you two so perky about?" I asked them.
"Ian and Anthony just asked us to homecoming!!" Melanie replied with a huge grin on her face.
'Oh, great. As if not getting asked to homecoming in high school was bad enough' I thought to myself but groaned out loud,
"What's wrong? You haven't been asked?" Kalel asked.
"Of course not. Have you seen me?" I replied. Their smiles turned mischievous,
"Sohinki certainly has" Melanie said with a smirk. I looked at them blankly, waiting for them to continue. Kalel groaned loudly,
"Molly! How could you not tell?! Sohinki has a crush on you!" she blurted out. My eyes widened in shock,
"What?!! No way! You're lying!" I responded, stumbling over my words.
"Think about it. Who's always asking you to hang out when Maris out? Who's always offering to tutor you or play video games with you? Who always sits next to you when we all go out?" Kalel ranted. The answer to all of her questions was the same,
"Sohinki" I sighed, my face starting to feel hot, "but why hasn't he asked me to homecoming?" I asked.
"He's nervous, duh!" Melanie answered first,
"But we wanted to make sure you liked him too before we told him to ask you" Kalel added.
"So do you?" Melanie asked. My face turned bright red but I didn't answer,
"We'll take that as a yes" Kalel said and pulled out her phone, probably to text Sohinki. Her lips upturned into a mischievous smile as her eyes stayed glued to her phone, probably helping Sohinki figure out how to ask me to homecoming, I sighed,
"So besides celebrating getting asked to homecoming was there any other reason you guys came to bother me?" I asked sarcastically. They looked at me with mock offended looks,
"Well we had to make sure you liked Sohinki" Melanie countered with a wink.
"Well if that's all you guys want you don't have to stay here with me" I said. In all honestly I felt slightly awkward being with just them. When our whole group was together it was much more easy going. Melanie looked hurt and Kalel looked more offended. I immediately felt bad for what I said,
"But you guys can stay if you want! I just don't want you to be bored!" I said quickly, their expressions quickly turned into smiles,
"We wanna stay here with you. We know it's weird cause it's just us three instead of the whole group but that's why we're here. We can't always be with the boys" Melanie said sweetly. Kalel nodded,
"That's why we wanted to have a girls night" she added. We ended up chatting the whole night, even after Mari got back. Mel and Kalel left a little after midnight. I went to bed with the biggest smile on my face, thinking about how lucky I was to have friends like them.
The next morning I woke up when I heard my phone going off. My IM5 ringtone echoed through mine and Maris room. I sat up and turned to see Mari sitting up in her bed glaring at me,
"Your phone's been ringing for the past ten minutes. How on earth could you sleep through that?" she growled. My phone stopped ringing and I picked it up to see that I had several missed calls. Some from Kalel and Mel but most were from Sohinki. I suddenly got a text message from him and quickly opened it,
'Get on our Minecraft server!!!'. I blushed, already predicting what I was going to see when I logged on. I entered the server and Sohinki teleported to me. He led me through the pixelated world until I noticed some purple shapes on the horizon,
'Fly' he typed. I hit my space bar twice so my character flew up into the sky, 'Now look down' Sohinkis message flashed on the screen. I moved my cursor down to look down at the purple shapes. Written in purple wool was the word 'homecoming?' right in the middle of the virtual ocean. My hands flew up to cover my mouth and I squealed loudly. I turned around and stood to face Mari who hugged me excitedly,
"Go get him!" she nearly shrieked. I flung open our door and ran down the hall to Sohinki and Lasercorns room. Sohinki was already waiting outside his room for me. I nearly knocked him to the floor when I hugged him,
"Of course I'll go to homecoming with you!" I said into his shoulder but I knew he heard it. He let me go and I kissed him on the cheek, "that was really cute, by the way".
"Tell that to Kalel and Mel. They thought of it" he replied, his face bright red. I turned to see the two girls standing in front of me, still in their pajamas. They were both bouncing up and down excitedly. I hugged them both,
"Thank you guys so much. I can't wait for homecoming!"
