It was the same as any Saturday night, I was chilling in my room with Lasercorn, both of us screwing around in GTA. Lasercorn kept getting annoyed that I kept getting killed by other players, constantly telling me to get my head in the game. I sighed at his lame High School Musical reference. I tried to focus on gunning other players down but my mind kept wandering to other things. I kept thinking about homecoming, which was rapidly approaching. I already knew who I wanted to ask, but I was so nervous. I had no idea if she wanted to go to homecoming or even if she liked me back. My mind was so caught up in thoughts of homecoming that I hardly even noticed that another player had blown me up with a grenade. I sighed and quit out of the game,
"What the hell, man? Why'd you quit?" Lasercorn asked when he turned to me. I wasn't sure what he'd think if I told him I was too busy thinking about a girl to focus on the game, but blurted it out anyway,
"I was thinking of asking someone to homecoming!" Lasercorn looked at me with surprise, but his expression quickly turned into one of amusement,
"Who's the lucky girl?" he asked. I knew he wasn't gonna give up until I told him, so I decided to save myself the effort,
"Molly..." I mumbled.
"What? What was that? I couldn't quite hear you." Lasercorn responded, putting his hand up to his ear comically.
"I like Molly, okay?" I said, louder this time. Lasercorn grinned at me,
"So ask her to homecoming" he replied, grinning.
"What if she doesn't like me back?" I sighed. Lasercorn scoffed at me,
"Of course she does! Have you seen how she acts around you?" I hadn't. I was completely oblivious when it came to girls. As if on cue, my phone lit up with a text message from Kalel,
'You have to ask Molly to HC!! She likes youuuuuu!'. My eyes widened in shock and Lasercorn immediately asked what the message said,
"Kalel just texted me saying I should ask Molly to homecoming cause she likes me"
"Then do it!"
"How?" I asked Lasercorn as well as sending Kalel a message saying the same thing. Lasercorn thought for a minute before sighing in defeat,
"I got nothin'". Thankfully, Kalel texted me back,
'You both play Minecraft, right?' she asked. I responded with a yes. 'So do something in Minecraft!'. I got an idea in my head and immediately logged onto the private Minecraft server our group used and got to work. It took me the entire night to gather all the resources I needed but by around 2 o'clock in the morning I was finished. I went to bed but set the alarm on my phone to wake me up early in the morning.
I sprung out of bed and got dressed as soon as I heard my alarm go off. I immediately called Kalel and told her what I was gonna do before calling Molly. She didn't answer the first time so I tried once more, hoping the first time I called had woken her up. She didn't answer again so I sent her a text message telling her to get on the Minecraft server. I logged on and waited for her. Thankfully she logged on a few minutes later. I teleported to her and led her character to where I had set up my creation. I told her to make her character fly and she did, and I followed her up into the sky. I told her to look down and I watched as her characters head tilted down...and then stopped moving.
Oh god...I blew it. She didn't like what I did. She didn't like me that way. Kalel lied to me to make me feel like an idiot. My heart was pounding so hard that I barely heard the fast footsteps coming down the hall towards my room. I stepped out of my room and looked towards the scource of the footsteps to see Molly running down the hall towards me, still in her pajamas. I barely had time to brace myself as she enveloped me in a hug and buried her face in my shoulder. I almost didn't hear her mumble,
"Of course I'll go to homecoming with you!!" into my shoulder. I let out a heavy sigh of relief and held her tightly. I looked past her to see Kalel and Mel walking towards us with huge smiles on their faces. Molly pulled away and kissed me on the cheek,
"That was really cute, by the way" she whispered in my ear. My face flared at that comment,
"It wasn't my idea, thank them" I replied, pointing to Kalel and Mel who were now stood in front of us. Molly went over and hugged them and said something I couldn't hear. Molly came over and hugged me again before leaving to go back to her room. I was left with the biggest smile on my face and more excited than I've ever been for a school dance.
(A/N) I randomly thought that this chapter would be really really cute if it was told from Sohinkis POV, so that's what I did while I was trying to think of what to write for the next chapter. I promise I'll try to have it up soon! Hopefully this will hold y'all over till then ^^ Thanks again for reading, everyone! Love you all ^^ -Molly
