The battle began when the sound of Miss Alice's voice saying, "Go!" reverberated throughout the battlegrounds. I was assigned to go to the central lane and intercept the enemies there.
Hana was assigned at the north lane, together with Clifford, Spencer, and the others. As for Tom, he went straight to the jungle and out of sight. Dan followed me at the central lane.
The night air is cold, and the moonlight is making the scenery creepier than what it already was. If the fight was held early morning, I probably laughed in the middle of the battle. The night is truly frightening, if you ask me.
Dan was riding on somebody's back, using his 'lack of stamina' a reason not to march on foot towards the enemy class.
My classmate's bladed weapons lit the way, casting faint light in front of us. After about a few minutes walking and feeling the surroundings, Dan jumped in front of us and raised his staff.
"Lock shields and brace for impact!" Dan shouted loud enough to be heard by all of us.
He raised his staff and chanted something. "Fire protection!"
An aura enveloped all of us and Dan jumped back behind the wall of shields.
After about three seconds, we saw a large ball of fire soaring towards us.
The tanking class locked their shields and prepared for the impact. The explosion nearly blasted the tanks if not for their big shields and Dan's fire protection.
"How did you know?" I asked Dan.
"Well, that's how they start a fight most of the time." Dan said. "I knew because I worked with most of them in the past."
This kid is awesome. Really. No one can think like that, as if reading the future, and intercepting the enemy's plans.
"A Class A has been slain by Class F." A voice from the speaker said. "Double Kill from Class F!"
What? A double kill from a Class F student? Who could have done that?
Dan spoke while holding the communication device on his ear. He seemed to be congratulating the guy who defeated two Class A students.
"Who defeated two Class A students?" I asked Dan.
"Tom." He grinned.
"Wow." That guy is strong.
We continued on walking and after a few moments, we finally saw the class A army. They wield far more superior weapons than most of us and their armor are those kinds of things we of the last section cannot afford.
Compared to them, our weapons look like loots from the recycling bin.
Dan smiled and eased the tension we feel.
"Do not be afraid!" Dan said. "They will not cooperate as a team, and will try to get the glory for themselves. Just use the things you have learned from our training! Let's win!"
"YEEEAAAAHHH!" We all shouted and charged the Class A like stampeding bulls.
Shields clashed, and the sound of weapons being blocked by the shields pierced the night air. Some fighters from the enemy class tried to pry open our formation, but our tanking class knew what to do. They shouted threats and some trash talks to the high and mighty Class A. They gritted their teeth as they heard insults from the tanking class that prevented them from going after the back row of our formation.
"It's time to melt their defenses! Buff of Aqua Affinity!" Dan shouted. "Now, sorcerers, bathe the enemy tanks with water!"
What? Water? I'm not sure what that can do to melt the enemy's defenses, but the sorcerers' weapons shot out water enough to stop a raging fire. The enemy tanks got wet, and nothing else. They didn't melt or anything and I'm not sure what Dan is trying to do. If nothing else, Dan just gave them a quick shower.
