MASTER DAN HANDLES THE FIGHT
Dan wasn't acting all-heroic. In fact he was scared to death just by facing the enemy leader—Victor Python.
Compared to Victor Python, he was nothing. Victor carried a lot of runes. Runes that people have forgotten and thought was a legend, runes that once belong to noble families.
While Dan have three pouches full of toilet papers with sacred inscriptions and words of magic, and his ever-loyal staff which had no rune. Well, since he drank the rune, he has no need for the staff, but he was imitating some cool anime character, so without the staff, he's lacking.
Alice Eupraxia looked like she was trying to swallow a golf ball judging by her expression.
"You—you saved me?" She said.
"Yeah, duh." Dan said.
A fireball sailed towards Dan. Dan brought out a quelling talisman and the fireball dissipated.
"Oh please..." Dan said. "Don't hesitate to do more. I want to test my combating abilities."
Victor Python looked stunned. Then he laughed. "What are you doing here, kid?"
"I'm not a kid." Dan grumbled.
"Well, yes, you are!" Victor said.
"I'm fourteen, so I'm typically a teenager, but, yeah, I'm vertically challenged, so..."
"Ha! Midget!" Victor laughed.
"Ugh." Dan said. "Okay, grandpa, you win. I'm a kid. Now, fight me with all you've got!"
"I don't know..." Victor muttered.
"Don't know what?"
"Well, is this even legal? Fighting a kid like you?" Victor smirked. "Hahahah!"
Dan threw a talisman. The talisman stopped a feet in front of him as if there was a force field.
Hmmm. Dan thought. What was that?
Dan decided to throw more talismans. The talismans stopped a few feet in front of Victor the same as it did to the first talisman thrown.
"What were you trying to do, kid?" Victor said. "Just step out of the way and let me kill the woman on your back."
"Ha. Never."
Victor activated a rune and a sword made entirely of lightning appeared.
Victor slashed. A lightning beam sailed towards Dan. Dan threw three talismans in the air to intercept the beam and he quickly grabbed a quelling talisman.
Dan blocked the lightning beam without getting damaged.
"Hmmm." Dan said, asking Alice. "So, these talismans can block even a strike from a legendary weapon?"
"I don't know..." Alice muttered.
Victor leaped into the air and slashed the lightning sword. Dan raised the quelling talisman and braced for impact.
THOOOOOM!!!! Victor was knocked back a few meters from Dan as soon as his sword hit Dan's quelling talisman.
Victor rolled on the ground and stabbed his sword on the dirt. He spat out some spit wad and cursed. He straightened up and examined his attire.
"You're good, kid." Victor commented. "What's your name?"
"That's a secret." Dan replied.
"Hmmmm!!!" Victor said, and grabbed another rune. This time, it looked like wind runes.
