The Second Hand of Time

CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR

SEREN STRIKES BACK

Robbie enjoyed the heat of the battle. He went crazy shooting frozen arrows just to take the girl down who wields the Flaming Viper Whip.

Maverick couldn't seem to harm the whip girl with his firepower. Robbie decided to fight the girl instead.

The girl lashed her whip at Jomari Elk. Jomari slashed his weapon to parry the attack. Then, he jumped away as the whip girl shot fire towards him.

"Tough workout." Jomari said, flexing his aching muscles.

Maverick charged with his weapon. He wasn't affected by the whip girl's fire, but the whip makes it difficult for him to engage the enemy in a melee battle. However, Maverick can act as a tank whenever the whip girl spews fire with her whip.

"Vertical Slash!" Maverick jumped and tried to cut vertically.

The whip girl dodged and kicked Maverick on the side of his stomach. Then, she lashed her whip at Maverick's body. Maverick cried in pain and rolled away, screaming.

"AHH!" He screamed.

Robbie nocked an arrow. He let it fly, sending a frozen arrow towards the whip girl's direction. The whip girl winced as the arrow cut a gash on her cheek.

That will leave a scar. Robbie thought. Not bigger than mine, though.

Jomari then threw his laser weapon at the whip girl. The whip girl jumped sideways and lashed her whip at Jomari's direction. Jomari evaded and raised his right hand. The laser weapon flew back into his hands.

Robbie shot another volley of arrows. The whip girl melted his frozen arrows away, but that gave his allies enough time to recover.

Maverick charged once again, slashing randomly towards the whip girl. The whip girl was good; she could evade Maverick's random slashing as if she was just dancing ballerina.

Then, the whip girl lashed her whip towards Maverick. Maverick raised his sword for defense. Instead, the whip circled around his feet and dragged him in the sand.

The whip raised him up into the air and smashed him back into the sand like a ragdoll.

"ACK!" Maverick shouted, eating a mouthful of sand. "HELP!"

Jomari jumped towards the whip girl. The girl took out a dagger and engaged Jomari in a slashing fight.

Robbie took the time to create some of his icy beasts. Two icy lions were formed as Robbie concentrated.

The scorching hot sands might burn them away easily though. Jomari thought.

Sure enough, the lions' feet were starting to melt.

"Attack her!" Robbie ordered his ice lions.

The lions ran, charging towards the whip girl with an icy snarl.

One of the lions leaped at the whip girl. The whip girl was forced to unfasten her whip from Maverick's feet. Maverick fell on the sand with a thud. He sat up dizzily and vomited.

He's okay. Robbie thought.

The whip girl lashed her whip in a circle. One of the lions was hit, melting into a puddle of water. The other lion pounced angrily and raked its claws on the whip girl's back.

The whip girl cried in pain and brought her knife into the beast. The knife didn't break the lion. Her flames did.

The girl spat blood and looked at Robbie with hatred.
