Taylor's POV

"Can you came over tonight?" I asked Jade as we neared the end of the hallway.

"I think I can. My mom is having some of her business partners over, and I really don't wanna be there when they are." She said desperately.

"Really?" I asked dismayed.

"What do you mean 'really'? Why are you so shocked?" Jade questioned after we began walking up the stairs.

"Nothing, I just thought you found that stuff interesting." I said.

"Oh I do, but I just don't like those people. It's like they have no emotion whatsoever. You wave and smile to them and they just stare blankly at you." She looked a little nervous just talking about it.

I laughed. "Seriously?"

She rolled her eyes at me and we both walked into class.

I took the seat right next to hers, right before the far back corner. The smart kids aren't always front and center.

Jade gestured for me to go in first and I took the inside seat and dropped my bag. She took the outside seat and did the same before she pulled out her laptop.

"So how's every with Cayden?" Jade asked curiously.

"Everything's fine." I lied. The other night, he made me feel like my heart was about to jump out of my chest. "I think that he's actually starting to understand the things we go over."

"Wow, good for you." She said applauding me.

"So, are you doing anything over the break?" I asked her as we settled down into out seats and took everything out.

"Oh well my dad is coming home from his business trip and then were leaving to go to the Bahamas on Saturday morning." She finished while she typed away on he computer.

"Oh cool." I said after the bell rang.

"Yeah I've gotta finish packing tonight because were leaving pretty early in the morning." She turned to look at me. "So I don.t really know if I can come over. I want to though but..."

"Its fine, I understand." I told her truthfully.

"You sure?" She reassured me.

"Yeah." I said a little annoyed.

Ms. Phillips walked in a minute after the bell and jumped right into the lesson.

"I'm sorry I'm late, but lets jump tight in. You already know that you were supposed to come in with the draft of your papers done. What I want you to do now is turn to the person next to you and have them read and edit yours for you. Then conference. When you guys are done, you may do when you please." Ms. Philips finished instructing the class and sat at her desk and every one began their tasks.

After a little of reading and editing papers, the whole class was just about done.

"You like him." Jade said closing her laptop.

"Huh?" I chocked out, as my heart picked up its pace and began to pump faster.

"You like Cayden Kessler." She said softer for only my ears to hear.

"Don't be ridiculous." I chuckled and gave myself away.

"I see right though you." She rolled her eyes. "Your taste, needs to be tweaked. He fucks anything that moves." She lowered her voice.

I gave her a look of disgust. "One, I don't think he likes me back. Two, I'm awkward so we wouldn't work. Three, you don't know him and don't go acting like you do. What you hear, isn't always the truth. You don't know what someones going though." I argued. I packed up all of my things as the bell rang and stood up turned away from her.
