Life Must Go On For Me I Guess

My morning was considered crap. Paul and I had decided that we wanted to continue with watching the old movie marathons, and that didn't end until the morning. So when my alarm went off, I jumped up out of my unusual position on my bed, and saw Paul hanging off the other end of my bed. With my blanket completely wrapped around his body.

So I had to slap him awake and send him on his way home so he could get ready for school. Although what we'll be doing, is sleeping our way through classes for the day.

... I was headed to my third period class but I waited outside of Paul's anatomy class. When he walked out of the door, I jumped on his back so he could give me a piggy back ride. It was an everyday thing, and he never complained.

"You know, we really need to cut our old movie marathon watching days short. Since it does end on a Sunday." Paul advised tiredly as he walked passed Jacob and Seth, while I laid my head on his shoulder, enjoying the ride. Jacob gave me a sharp look as we trailed on by, while Seth started chewing his way through a muffin.

"Yeah, I agree, maybe we should move it to Saturday nights so we'll just sleep through Sunday." I yawned as we made it to the door of our third period art class. I jumped off his back and then began to stretch, as if the ride had taken hours.

We moved sluggishly through the door, and found our seats at our chosen essels. We happened to feel a little more awake, but the feeling of being tired was still etched across our faces.

I started removing the plastic from around my oil painting, and crumpled it into a large ball, and threw it across the room, although it didn't travel far since it was indeed plastic, and it traveled like paper. Floating in a completely different direction. And I was just watching it hit the floor slowly.

"Alright class, today we're just working on our projects, and remember, they're all due in one week. And the art show is in one month. So get to it." Mr. Richards had given the day's assignment as he took a swig of his coffee from his mug and then sat down, looking at the newspaper.

"I say we tell him we have to go to the bathroom, and then we just go fall asleep in the teachers lounge." Paulie joked as he started rubbing his eyes. I understood how tired he was; because he usually waited for me to fall asleep before he went on home, but I guess we both were to the point where we both didn't feel like moving, so we slept where we laid.

"I would say that that's an awesome idea, but you know we have to finish these paintings before the art show." I answered sadly. As much as I would love to go to sleep, I know that we had to finish so we would have nothing better to do but sleep. And I, at least had an amount of two days of work to finish. Paul had a day and a half's work left, and he won't let me see it, and I the same.

I looked at Paul as he began to dip his brush into his acyrlic, and knew that he was tired, but he pushed it aside and started on the task at hand. He was so adorable when he concentrated, because he looked like a little boy trying to build something out of legos, trying to figure out every little detail to get it just perfect. Just when it came to his painting, the one he didn't want to show me, he concentrated just a little too hard; I guess he wanted to get it just right.

When I blinked back to the real would and out of my thoughts, Paulie had been staring at me, which made me think that I had missed what he'd said.

"What was that bud?" I wondered as I made sure I paid attention the second time. He just shook his head left to right, smiling non-stop.

"I said; what do you think of me asking out Vanessa Kowalski, you know, from French?" He repeated. But all I could muster was a blank stare, and an empty mind. I was only thinking of him doing something like this a day ago, and I could only think of the worst when it came to other girls having an interest in my best friend. Or worse: when Paul wanted to have an interest in other girls.
