Standing in the movie theater alongside Alexia, Zack and Haylee was comforting, made me feel as if I were in some sort of PG-13 movie. It was all too familiar, being huddled together as we glared up at various movie choices, the smell of popcorn filling our noses. Alexia's scent though, was stronger than anything else; I could nuzzle my nose into her neck and breathe her in for ages. I loved this scene and I wanted her to grasp my bicep, point up to a movie of her choice and kiss my cheek. Oh god, what was I saying? I couldn't have possibly been feeling for the girl beside me, because my emotions were off. I didn't care about anyone and I never would.
"What movie are we gonna see?" I questioned, looking at the rest of them who were awkwardly silent.
"Alexia said she wanted to see Devil's Due," Haylee offered.
"I'm not protecting anyone if they get scared," Zack huffed. "Kissing maybe but--Who would want to kiss you?" Alexia teased and his mouth fell agape, his mock intimidation was amusing.
"You would," he winked and she shook her head quickly, denying him once again. I moved up in line and requested tickets for the movie Alexia wanted to see. When she shoved her hand in her pocket in search of money, I stopped her, a small grin on my lips as I paid for her. Zack paid for Haylee and we retrieved our tickets, passing the doors and walking inside. "We should all go to the arcade, yeah?" Zack pointed in the direction of the room filled with games, "Movie starts in 30 minutes, so we could kill time."
"But we also have to get snacks," I implied.
"We will, chill out dude, you'll have time to canoodle with Alexia," he grabbed Haylee's wrist and slithered into the arcade, not bothering once to look back at me.
"Canoodle?" Alexia turned to me and arched a brow.
"I don't even know," I shrugged and she smirked up at me, pushing her hair back and batting her thick eyelashes.
"Oh, Jordan, do you want to canoodle with me?" She changed her voice into a sweet and pleading one I chuckled.
"No."
"C'mon, I know you want to," she pushed me playfully and began to walk backwards, "Let's go play?" I nodded and followed her, finding it all the more difficult not to smile with the Aphrodite like entity in front of me. She bumped into an on coming stranger and we halted in our actions, her eyes widening as she turned to apologize to the guy behind her. But he wasn't a stranger, well...not to her at least.
"Alexia," he beamed. "What are you doing here?" He asked before looking back up at me confusedly.
"Just going to see a movie with a few friends," she gestured towards me and the look on his face became hardened as he crossed his arms.
"A few friends, huh? Or just him?" He cocked his head towards me and I shoved my hands in my pockets, retorting for the Alexia who became more nervous by the second.
"The other two are in the arcade, just playing games."
"I didn't quite ask you," he rolled his eyes and the question crossed my mind in a million different ways but I didn't ask it, because I assumed it was wrong to do so in the moment. And I certaintly didn't know if I was jealous or not. "Do you want to come with me?" He whispered.
"I'm with them, Mikey," she tried nicely to get him to go on his way but he refused, he was desperate to be with her.
"But you're supposed to be with me," he pleaded with the puppy dog face and I rolled my eyes at his pathetic attempt. "C'mon, I was just going to see this movie for my report on horror and now you can come with me. I'm gonna see Devil's Due." Fuck. This made it all the more easier for him to steal Alexia from me. "Please? You can go with your friends another night." At this, Alexia gave in and turned around, looking at me sympathetically.
"Uh, can I have the..."
"Yep," I tore the tickets in two, one for me and one for her, bumping past her and walking into the arcade. As bad as I wanted to, I didn't look back or await an apology I probably wasn't going to receive. Zack was behind Haylee, teaching her to shoot deer on some badly designed game. This was the oldest excuse to get close to a girlfriend; teach her to play a game she was absolutely bad at. They both stopped and turned to face me, looking around when they realized Alexia wasn't in sight.
"Where is she?" Haylee questioned. "Jordan did you fucking scare her off?"
"Nope, she actually left me for some other guy, don't worry, they'll be in our theater," I stated.
"But why would she--I don't know, okay Zack?" I cut him off and turned on my heel. "Let's go get snacks."
"We've got like 20 minutes, plus commercials!" He objected.
"I don't care," I spoke nonchalantly before he smiled hugely, slapping me on the chest and hugging me as if I were his best friend.
"You do care! Jordan, you're jealous!" I pushed him away, looking around and trying to avoid a scene. "You are fucking jealous, you emotionless bastard. You want her."
"I don't," I spat.
"You do," him and Haylee spoke and unison and I tugged at my hair, wanting nothing but for them to stop this colloquy.
"So," Zack spoke into an imaginary microphone. "Jordan Knight, how does it feel to have been rejected by your date?" He brought it to my lips and I grabbed his fist, slowly beginning to crack all of his knuckles. "Stop! Stop!" He pleaded, because he knew if I continued on, I would break his fingers. I loved being supernatural. I let go and pat his head, turning around and walking over to the line for popcorn and random snacks. "He's so jealous," I heard him mumble to Haylee as they came to stand behind me in line. I shot them a deathly glare, inwardly begging them not to say anything about Alexia and the boy who were currently ordering.
Once we got our edibles, we were seated in the back. Unfortunately though, we were right behind Alexia and Mikey. She called him that, so I assumed it was his name. I crossed my arms and considered whether or not I would check out any of the movies whose trailors were showing up. Some were interesting, but what intrigued me more, was the couple in front of me. If she had a boyfriend all this time, why did she let me run my fingers up her thigh for as long as I did? If she had a boyfriend, why did she flirt like she did? Or was she even flirting?
"Jealous," Zack whispered into my ear and I ignored him, focusing my hearing on their conversation.
"I didn't really have a report on horror, well, I did it already," he shrugged and placed his hand on her upper thigh. She was wearing a skirt and I wondered what kind of underwear she had on. I shook my head quickly to rid the thought and continued to listen. "So that guy, is he really just your friend?"
"Yes, Mikey," she sounded slightly annoyed as she removed his hand.
"God, I can't wait to bite you." Bite her? What the fuck?
"Mikey, we're at the movies," she whispered as he kissed her neck. I was not jealous. I was not jealous. I was not jealous. I was NOT. JEALOUS!
"Kiss me at least?" He questioned and I cleared my throat louder than necessary to receive a look back from the both of them.
"I'm right here."
"Yeah, I know that. Anything else obvious that you want to tell me?" He hissed and I leaned forward in my seat and nodded.
"Yes, you're a fucking douche bag," I retorted to be brought back by Zack who was pulling me. Alexia grasped onto Mikey and mouthed something that I couldn't make out. My blood was boiling and I beyond pissed. I stood to excuse myself, standing in the middle of the theater's corridor, soon to be met by my new favorite scent.
"Jordan?" She asked and I turned around, immediately tranquilizing at the sight of her eyes. "He's just trying to make you jealous."
"Is he your boyfriend?"
"No," she shook her head and winked at me, walking back into the movie theater and leaving me flustered in the middle of the corridors. Did that mean something?
