He arrived to my home and peered over at me, a delighted grin plastered on his face as he unlocked the car doors. I unbuckled my seat belt and returned the gesture.

"Can I walk you to the door?" I answered with a nod of my head and we exited the car, walking up to my front door and gazing at each other like the couples did in the movies. That awkward silence was somewhat comfortable, the captivating glint in his eyes beneath the porch light had stolen my use of speech. He declined the amount of space between us, pausing for a hesitant moment to graze his eyes over my lips. I stood on my tippy toes and pressed upon an assuring gentle kiss, stepping backwards and blushing as he stood there, bewildered. He set his large palms on my waist and pulled me closer, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear before he spoke in a low voice, "I like your lips."

"And I like yours," I bundled up a small fistful of fabric on the hem of his shirt and brought him down to my height, preparing to kiss that soft pair of heaven but stopping once the door opened. We turned to see not my mother, not my grandmother, but that someone who I hadn't seen since last Saturday.

"Mikey," I stepped away from Jordan and peered up at him, his expression not one of any happy invitation.

"What the fuck is going on here?"

"Well, as you can see, I was just about to kiss Alexia until you opened the door."

"Stay the fuck away from her," Mikey growled and grabbed me by the forearm, pulling me into his chest as he glowered at Jordan.

"Last time I checked, mate, she said she wasn't your girlfriend, I think Alexia can speak for herself," Jordan replied with a sardonic grin, keeping his eyes on Mikey but occasionally peering over and waiting for me to speak, but as I parted my lips, I felt an excruciating pain. Mikey's claws were indenting in the small of my back. I took in a sharp breath and stared down at my feet.

"You can leave now," Mikey sneered.

"Alexia are you seriously gonna let this guy control you?" I stayed silent. "Alright, whatever, see you in school." He sauntered backwards to his mobile and rolled his eyes at me before turning completely around and leaving me under Mikey's watch. He removed his dirty claws and my blood began to boil, my breathing eradicated and my own claws appeared. I didn't know what was happening but by the look of it, I was about to have a blackout.

"Alexia!" Mikey was pinning me down to my bed, his face etched with claw marks that were healing by the second. I writhed out of his hold and he breathed heavily, checking my eyes before getting off of me.

"What just happened?"

"I don't know, you tell me. You just fucking fought with me like I was the devil and you were all begging to go back to Jordan."

"The hell are you talking about? Where's my nana?"

"In her room."

"My mom?"

"With my dad." I propped myself up on my elbows and stared at him, "What?" He asked, dumbfounded.

"Get out."

"Alexia, don't you think we should speak a little about this mate thing? I came here so we could talk and actually establish our relationship. You seemed fond of me all those other days."

"Please go," I rubbed my migrained forehead before dismissing him with a wave of my hand. He stayed put for only a matter of seconds until he realized that I really wanted him gone. He left my house and I wondered why my nana hadn't gotten up to check on the whole scene, it just wouldn't make any sense for her to allow Mikey to abuse me. Well, when I came back to my senses, that's what it looked like. I pried myself from the bed and walked over to my door frame, peering out of my room to where my nana's room was. She was standing there with a frightened look on her face. "Nana, why did you let him in?"

"Because he's your mate, sweetie."

"I get that but he- are you Alexia right now?" She interrupted me and I dropped my hands to my side, glaring at her suspiciously.

"What are you talking about?"

"Nothing," she breathed a sigh of relief, "Goodnight," she forged a smile and disappeared into her bedroom. I muttered a low 'what the fuck' under my breath and jogged down the stairs, seriously still stuck in wonder.

I was stood in the kitchen, preparing myself a sandwich and humming to the Hannah Montana theme song. The front door opened and that stupid voice automated thing chimed, so I decided to sing along with it, "Beep beep beep, front door." My mother walked in and closed the door behind her, seeming surprised to see me. She saw me at 3 PM, what the hell was the big deal? She ran over to me and sat on the island like a teenage girl, grinning hugely and stealing a piece of salami.

"Hi there," I acknowledged her.

"Hey," she seemed nothing like a mother as she chewed and I hated the fact that werewolf-age never struck her a day passed 30. "Are you going to talk to me now about Mikey?"

"He said he's my mate, so he's my mate," I shrugged casually and shoved the condiments back into the refrigerator. I took a bite of my 10PM snack and chewed, "Nothing else to it really."

"Yeah but, he told Christian what just happened and Christian told me. We're a bit concerned."

"Mom, you've always been concerned," I stated simply as and she rolled her eyes.

"Yeah but usually your blackouts are on full moons, when she likes to come around and play."

"I've never even met her, she doesn't communicate with me or anything and Mikey says that I was asking for a guy whose eyes I drew and..." I trailed off.

"Alexia, who is the guy?"

"His name is Jordan."

"And you drew his eyes?" I nodded and she fell deep in thought for a few quiet seconds. "Your father and his wolf fell for me quickly, you know?"

"Yeah mom, I know but at least dad can control his...I can't and at this point, I don't know what she wants but whatever it is, she's desperate for it." I frowned at my sandwich and set it down, ogling at the marbled island and scratching my head.

"Boy, we're really gonna have to buckle down the next full moon, eh? We've only got 13 days."

"13 days to what?"

"Figure out how to stop your wolf," she hopped down and left me to go upstairs. I was now stuck to wallow in my thoughts and wonder why now my wolf was choosing to do all of this. How else could I speak to her?

The lightbulb lit itself in my head seconds later and I ran up to my room, sure to take my sandwich with me. I found my sketchbook and sat on my bed beside Buddy who was nibbling on a toy I had bought him. I grabbed a red colored pencil and flipped to a fresh new page.

"Wolf?" I tried. "Do that thing that you do and draw what's going to come into my life. Into our life. Please? I need to know what you want." Buddy stared at me like I was psychotic but I ignored him, feeling my hand jerk forward as I began to draw. I drew absentmindedly, hand scribbling a massive mess of nothing. "That's not funny," I sighed and stared down at the ugly squiggly lines but inside of it, there was something, a scrambled word. Backwards E, upside down A, big T and M, all in that order. "Eat m? Eat what?" Nothing. "Team? I love that song," I tried again. "Meat? Tame?" And my heart sank into realization as the only last relevant word came to mind...
