"We're home!" I absent-mindedly said as I entered our house. I didn't have a problem in the darkness because I wasn't alone on that creepy road.

"Son! Welcome home!" My mom welcomed us. "So, you're Yukine Mitsumi, am I correct?" She happily greeted, like an in-law who finally gets to see her son's fiancee.

"Yes ma'am, nice to meet you," Mitsumi replied.

"So, what did your parents say?" My dad asked. He quickly ran outside after hearing Mitsumi's voice, just like mom, he was also grinning from ear to ear.

"Um, they allowed me to." She replied.

"Apparently, I told them what had happened the day you saved me. They usually don't allow me to go to an invitation, but they said it's fine because I told them that you'll be accompanying me home. I'm sorry, Hikari. I didn't ask you first." She whispered at me.

"It's fine. I'm accompanying you home, anyway." I forced myself to smile. My dad would kill me if I don't, you know. They have been wishing for a daughter for as long as I could remember. I guess they treat you like one, you know. Arghh?! What am I thinking?!

"Oh, they're really close, just as you told me." My mom smiled after seeing her whisper. "When did they meet?."

"Um, I don't know." My dad wondered. "So, when did you two meet?" He relayed the question.

"Today, I mean yesterday," I replied

"Yesterday, I mean today," Mitsumi simultaneously said.

Mitsumi looked at me apologetically. She must've thought that she made a mistake. She's so cu...argh!!! No! Stop thinking about her, stupid brain!

"I met her yesterday, at the love bridge," I replied.

My parents smiled. Just as I thought, they were thinking of the same thing. They motioned for us to come inside. My mom looked at my hands and smiled. After seeing my hands, my dad also had the same reaction.

Color drained on my face. I didn't realize it once again. I'm holding her hand! Why am I holding her hand every single time?! Aarghh I hate myself. I panicked. I quickly let go of her hand and apologized.

"It's fine." She sincerely said as we went inside our house.

"Just wait at the living room as your dad and I prepare for dinner." My mom told us, motioning for us to sit down and wait on the living room couch. "We'll be having steak on this special day." She clapped her hands as she cheerfully announced.

Meanwhile, my dad grabbed his phone and connected it to a loudspeaker. He smiled at me as classical music filled the entire house. What's this dad? Is the president coming to the house? You only do that when your officemates come here. I said to myself.

They really meant it when they said that it's a special day.

.....

"Hikari, Mitsumi, dinner's ready." My mom shouted from the kitchen. "Come, take your seats!"

"Son! Dinner's ready! hehe." My dad slapped me on the back.

I led Mitsumi to our dining area. Well, our dining area is just beside the living room... Ummm I think it's a part of the living room, just on the far side, so there's no use leading her, right?. My parents motioned for us to take our seats.

"Let's eat!"

I can't believe what I saw on our table! There were eight pieces of large-cut steaks and the table was filled with other special dishes my mom rarely cooks. My dad stood up and smiled at me as if saying that there's still more. He quickly went to the kitchen.
