The Shadow Manipulator

Chapter 23: Hana

"Get away from my onee-chan!" She exclaimed.

Wait?! Sister?! You mean, Yuki is your sister?!

Hana? Is that you?! I said to myself.

I didn't have the time to ask her the question I had in mind. For the moment she exclaimed at me, she suddenly charged right to me. By using her wind manipulation, she was able to enhance her speed and agility. My sense enhancement could tell that she has full control over her irregularity since she came at me without hesitating. I barely dodged her by using shifting into my shadow form and gliding towards her back. 

Still she was able to follow my movements with her eyes. However, she wasn't that quick to react.

I immediately used my shadow bind to bound her arms and legs while she was still in mid-air. To my relief, it worked. 

I wouldn't want to fight you, Hana, but I couldn't talk to you either since you won't even let me talk, so this is the right choice for me, I guess. I reasoned out.

"Who are you? Let me go!" She exclaimed.

"Wait, let me talk first! After asking me, you suddenly attacked me without giving me a chance to answer. And why were you trying to hit onee-chan with your wind?" I exclaimed.

Everyone gasped.

Wait?! Did I just say, onee-chan?! Oops, I slipped.

Kyaaa! Why did I slip at such an important time! I told myself as I shook my head off.

"I was trying to hit you. And who are you calling onee-chan?!" Hana exclaimed.

That's when the dizziness struck me. I was too preoccupied at the moment that I forgot about my fever. As soon as I stopped moving, my head began to swirl. Still, I tried to keep myself standing.

"Um...er..." I stuttered as I tried to avoid Yuki's gaze. If I continue on, I'll get caught in no time! I told myself as I tried to calm down.

A few moments later, everything began to swirl as my head began throbbing with pain. I let go of my shadow bind as I tried to explain myself to Hana, and to Yuki.

But as soon as I let her go, she immediately used her wind manipulation.

I felt a sharp gust of wind brushing at my cheek. Without me realizing it, the face mask that I wore fell from my face. I wasn't able to stop it since I was getting weaker.

But my face was already exposed to everyone.

"Hikki?!" Yuki exclaimed at me in disbelief.

"Hikari?! Is that you?!" Hana suddenly exclaimed. She suddenly hugged me as if she was seeing her long-lost brother (which is probably the case.) "I missed you so much! I've badly wanted to see y..."

I didn't hear the rest of what she told me. For at that moment, my fever has gotten into me, and I lost consciousness.

As everything turned black, I heard a few gasps from the crowd, as I fainted on Hana's arms.

W-w-where am I?! I asked myself as I blinked my eyes. What is this place? 

A white-painted ceiling and a single light bulb greeted me as I looked up. I quickly enhanced my senses just in case someone approaches me or something like that. But to my relief, I only detected two heat signatures. One was lying on the the other bed, probably asleep, and the other was sitting beside my bed.

It was Hana, and she was already asleep.

Did she, by any chance, looked after me while I was sleeping? I asked myself as I tried to sit down. Apparently, my fever has gone down, but I still had a slight a headache. As I sat down on my bed and got a better view of the room, that's when I realized that I was in the infirmary.
