hermione couldn't stop thinking about draco's role in the war. if he could kill a friend, who else was on the list? she hoped a certain death wasn't on his hands.hermione sighed and muttered the password to the portrait distractedly, her eyes glued to the floor. her classes were done for the day and, until dinner, she planned on getting some homework done. however her plans came to a halt when she spotted the small, black and grey box tv carefully placed next to the coffee table.
"finally," she gasped, smiling widely. however she realised she'd have to renovate the room so the tv could be placed somewhere with the settees facing it, so she sent her bag to her room and pulled out her wand.
ten minutes later everything was moved and hermione couldn't help smiling at her work. she practically skipped over to the tv, only then noticing the parchment stuck to it. she pulled it off and read it.
remember to turn it off when it's not in use — headmistress mcgonagall.
hermione smiled even wider. after dinner they'll have a movie night—hermione frowned. how could she have forgotten? they can't have a movie night without and dvd's! if mcgonagall would let her floo home—
home. london, a place she was avoiding. could she face it? despite sending her parents away she never sold the house because that'd be too much for her to handle mentally. some things were still left behind—dvd's included. maybe draco could go with her?
hermione shot down the idea almost immediately. it was supposed to be a surprise for him and, right now, she kept on thinking about their conversation a few days back in the kitchen. although he's pretending nothing was wrong—he's awfully good at it, acting—she wasn't as emotionless as him. it was hard to face him without thoughts of all the terrible things he could have done racing across her mind.
hermione settled on asking pansy. harry was too young to understand and ginny is, also, young. she could ask ron but that'd be too much of a hassle.
hermione rushed to pansy's dorm, knocking rapidly on the portrait once she reached it. luna opened the door with a dreamy smile. "hello hermione. what brings you here?"
"hello luna," hermione replied, smiling kindly at the blonde girl. although hermione considered the girl as a friend they weren't that close, otherwise she'd quite possibly be asking luna to go with her. "is pansy here, by any chance?"
luna nodded. "yes, would you like to come in? i could call her over if you'd rather—"
"could you please call her over?" hermione quickly asked. "i'm kind of on a tight schedule."
luna nodded understandingly. "of course," she said, turning around. "pansy! hermione is here to see you!"
luna smiled once more at hermione as they both waited for pansy to appear. once the dark haired slytherin was visible, luna disappeared, leaving hermione alone and with pansy.
"everything alright, granger?" pansy asked, leaning against the doorjamb.
"i was hoping you would help me with something," hermione said, pushing back her hair. "something that requires a trip to my home in london. i'd go alone but—"
"you don't need to explain yourself, granger," pansy quickly cut her off, standing up straighter. "has mcgonagall allowed this?"
"we can ask her now," hermione assured her, biting her lip. "i'm sure she'd let us when i tell her why."
"aren't you going to tell me why?"
hermione nodded. "if you agree to come along."
pansy sighed. "fine, okay, it's not like i have anything better to do."
