The yard was splayed out beautifully. with the married-couple-to-be's choices of a wedding venue, the vibrant green grass trimmed evenly to the sunny yellows and plum deep purples of flowers sprouting from neatly cut hedges that surround the area, almost as if it was a painting, intricately created only by the most dexterous but gentle hands. An equivalent painting in those by professionals, a painting where those very same hands took small, even strokes of painstaking precision to get the full, bright, exuberant effect. The effect that'll catch the eyes of any admirer of art.
Eren stared at the scene with a newfound vitality, breathing in deeply the fresh air. His ocean colored eyes scanned the very piece of art in front of him, watching as the freshly cleaned stone path was being lightly brushed by the grass, the same path that led all the way to the alter. The path then grew wider, stretching through the elaborately floral designed arch and into a large circle where sat a fountain right in the center. On each side of him were the wooden foldable chairs, set in neat rows, so that the whole entirety of it all would be perfectly symmetrical. It even reminded him of his own wedding, years ago.
The crisp spring air nipped at the back of his exposed neck, and you could smell in it everything blooming. He closed his eyes, letting the soft wing tickle at his hair, basking in the sunlight that was neither to dull or too bright. His friends honestly couldn't have picked a more serene season, being the rebirth of everything. Like it all died off and decided to start anew. In a sense it had, seeing that winter had made its own entrance and exit just previously. It was all just so perfect and surreal, the moment seeming to last forever.
In the midst of the calm, faint footsteps interrupted the almost too peaceful silence, and grew louder until they stopped, the body they belonged to residing beside the brunette. He couldn't tell who it was, be Eren could care less. They seemed to just stand there, admiring the same thing as he, breathing softly and staying quiet.
Finally, after spending time in each other's company, the other visitor spoke up, directing their statement towards Eren, who's eyes were still closed. He couldn't help but smile, nodding in agreement to what they've said.
"It's beautiful isn't it?"
"It is."
"It reminds you of yours?" They asked, wrapping an arm around Eren's waist, holding him close.
"Well, it was yours too," he said, finally letting his eyes open.
Eren looked down at the slightly shorter male, smiling softly down at him, finding he was already looking up with his own smile.
"I guess it was." He chuckled, turning his gaze outward.
"Levi." Eren called, making him turn his head back towards his husband.
"Yes?"
"I love you."
"I love you too."
The couple leaned in and joined their lips, the beauty surrounding them shrouding their senses with love and affection. The kiss was soft and delicate, like the hands that had painted the scene for the wedding ceremony, but lasted only for a few second before they both pulled away.
The setting made Levi quite reminiscent himself, but it just made him remember how happy they were and how perfect they are together, instead. After all, in only a few minutes, another couple was to be joined as one, just like he and Eren, and countless other's of their friends. He couldn't help himself but lean in for another kiss, savoring his husband's lips. It made him think too, deep thoughts that would probably be better off left unanswered like, what if he hadn't so clumsily bumped into Eren in the mall bathroom that day? One thing's for sure was that he wouldn't still be with Petra, even if it worked out like that. Their relationship was arranged, and extremely toxic, based on stereotypes and parental driven threats, not like the love he and his beautiful brunette shared now, fortunately. Even the stupid stuff like, what if gay marriage wasn't legal, or what if their friends didn't accept them? The truth was, the raven was so happy he could care less. He had a successful job as a gym teacher, his husband was a phenomenal singer, and they had a beautiful baby boy who was named after them. And thanks to science, he was their genetic material.
