Eren's leg shook up and down as tears streamed down his face, staining it with the salty liquid from his eyes. Luckily his hands shielded him from the humiliation of a red puffy face as he sat in the waiting room, waiting anxiously for any word from the doctor.
"Shh, Eren it'll be okay. He'll be fine." Levi soothed, rubbing his husband's back.
"How do you know? I'm just..."
Levi cut Eren off with his lips, despite the fact he was sweaty and still in his work clothes. The brunette gratefully accepted it, his leg ceasing its repetitive motion and his tears drying up.
They both had been called from work, making an immediate beeline for the hospital upon hearing their son was rushed to hospital from his school. No one had told them what was going on, and that scared Eren. He had called off his limo, telling Krista he would be late to practice, and Levi had told the principle he needed a sub to fill in, regarding the urgent issue with his son.
It wasn't long before Eren was reduced to tears, and Levi couldn't do anything beside try to comfort his husband with his own presence.
"Mr. And Mrs...." the nurse gasped when she saw them, eyes wide.
Her cheeks went red and she cleared her throat, cursing internally at herself for thinking so heteronormative.
"Sorry...Mr. and Mr. Ackerman? J-Jeager?" She tried, making an even bigger fool of herself.
Eren tried his best to smile, understanding it was probably hard for people like her; ones whom weren't too familiar with gay couples, or homosexuality in general.
"It's alright." he said softly. "Just Eren and Levi are good." She nodded, letting out a thankful sigh.
"Right. Well, Eren, Levi, the Doctor is finish with Elliot, so you can go in and see your son."
"Is he okay?" Levi asked, giving Eren's hand a squeeze.
"Oh yes! Completely fine. He just got the flu. It's his first time I assume, and with new parents it's a scary thing."
The brunette started to cry again, this time tears of joy, and he enveloped his husband in a tight hug.
"Oh thank god!" Levi chuckled and kissed the other male's temple, a soft smile gracing his monotonous features.
"Let's go then, shall we?" He whispered, earning a nod from him.
The two pulled away and followed the nurse to their son's room. Eren was holding his breath still, even with the good news, expecting something awful to happen.
"By the way, sorry for my blundering self. I've actually never seen a homosexual couple before so I never thought..." she frowned. "I feel so stupid."
"Don't worry about it. It's not the first time my husband was mistaken as a girl."
"H-hey!" She giggled.
"Even at one point in time, I have." Eren rolled his eyes.
"That's because I was pretending to be one Levi." He snapped, pouting.
"Anyways, here you two go. You're very cute by the way! My name's Hannah if you ever need anything." The male's nodded and as she walked off, Levi turned Eren smirking.
"It's a sign you need to bring Erin back."
"Yeah right! Fuck you..." Eren scoffed.
"With pleasure-" Eren cut him off with a groan.
"Oh the memories. But how about we go back to the present and see our son?"
"I will never get used to that." Levi chuckled, walking into the room with his husband in tow.
