Monday came back around, and the Jung family had found themselves at home, eating McDonald's that evening in celebration of the twins doing well in school that day.

"Their English teacher, Mr. Vincent," Miss Ysabelle announced to Hoseok after school, "told me that both Jiro and Kenji's reading has improved. Jiro is working on reading paragraphs now, and learning to write small sentences. Kenji used to be slacking a lot more than Jiro, but now he's catching up. His pronunciation is getting better, and so is his grammar. Lately, Mr. Vincent has been working on oral English with Kenji, but Mr. Vincent thinks that Kenji is ready to learn how to read words!" (Hoseok honestly thought the school was pushing the boys too hard, considering two months ago, he couldn't get the boys to have a conversation in English. Hoseok also told Jun that it was "pure bullshit" that his son was suddenly reading paragraphs at the age of four, knowing damn well most Americans don't start reading until five to six years old. However, Jiro and Kenji were happy with their progress, so Hoseok was going along with it as long as his kids don't complain about stress or being unhappy in school.)

"My sweet angels are learning how to read!" Hoseok cooed, while his sons grinned with food in their mouths. He kissed both their foreheads. "My boys are so smart, they speak Korean and English! You're both super cool!"

"Daddy is super cool, too!" Kenji mentioned, reaching over to kiss his father's cheek. Hoseok grimaced when he could feel the residue of Kenji's cheeseburger on his face, so Jiro took his finger and wiped it off.

"Daddy, are you coming to Mommy and Muffins tomorrow?" Jiro asked, wiping his lips.

Hoseok's eyebrow raised. "It's tomorrow?"

"Yeah, it was supposed to be next week, but Miss Ysabelle told us that the school moved it to a week before. I forgot the reason why."

Hoseok honestly hated hated Miss Ysabelle, even though she was sweet to his sons. She never updated them about things that occurred in school like parent meetings or conferences. Now, Hoseok is being greeted with news he should've received at least a month ago.

"Kids, I'm sorry, but Daddy can't go," Hoseok apologized, "I have to go to work tomorrow."

"Can't you cancel?" Kenji asked, his lips already in a pout.

"I've already left work so many times for you guys, if I miss another day, Boss could let me go," Hoseok sighed. "Don't worry! Daddy will come to the next one, I'll be at Daddy and Donuts!"

"Daddy and Donuts is next year, in the springtime," Jiro said sadly, "it's too far away."

"Maybe, after school tomorrow, we can go and get our own muffins!"

"Daddy, all the other parents signed up and said they would come," Jiro responded, "Kenji and I will be alone."

Hoseok looked at the sad look on his children's faces, his own face becoming grim. At times like this, he wished their mom was still here to come and be apart of moments like Mommy and Muffins. He wished that his kids wouldn't have to be so upset because of his schedule. He was truly trying his best for them, but sometimes he had to make some sacrifices.

"Daddy," Kenji mumbled.

"Yes?"

"How about Yoongi?" Kenji asked. "Can he come to Mommy and Muffins?"

Hoseok glanced at his sons' faces before looking down at his chicken nuggets. He didn't want to push Yoongi into the father figure role just yet, he wanted Yoongi to ease into it. However, Hoseok was feeling desperate. He knew his kids already felt a little out of place in their school due to them having to learn English and not having a mom, and he really did not want them to have a reputation of 'the kids with shit parents who can't show up to one Mommy and Muffins.'
