Hehehehe, I had fun writing this one.

Medic's pov

I still cannot believe I actually agreed to this. My instincts are screaming at me for being forced into this social situation, but I just couldn't decline. (y/n)'s sparkling eyes were full of hope and kindness, an expression I don't think anyone has ever given me. I just-wait, what am I thinking! It's nothing like that! I'm merely attending for the aforementioned health benefits. It is absolutely nothing to do with her beautiful eyes, her soft looking hair, her kind smile, that's ridiculous! I guess I could do with the health benefits, my stomach feels all weird and my heart is fluttering. Maybe I'm sick?

I feel a light tap on my arm and sharply look over, startled out of my thoughts. (y/n) tilts her head to one side. Gah! Why must she act so cutely?

"earth to medic, are you in there?" she's looking at me oddly and I silently chastise myself for acting so awkwardly.

"ja, vhat do jou vant?" I try to act annoyed but she completely ignores it. Either she's dense or doesn't care. My guess is the last one.

"not really the social butterfly, huh? Honestly, me too. I'd rather be reading or playing videogames but these guys insisted on hosting a party. I never really got the appeal but to each their own." she looks of towards the others who were completely drunk.

Demoman was dancing on a table to whatever music was playing in his head, scout decided it was time to take his shirt of, spy was crying in a corner with soldier, heavy was seemingly the only sane one left but still stumbled whenever he tried to walk and god knows what was going on with pyro.

Engineer was leaning against a wall and caught my eye. He gestured towards the table, which was laden with snacks and drinks. He then mimed drinking and gave me a thumbs up. I stealthily flipped him off and turned to address (y/n), who was watching the spectacle with an amused expression.

"(y/n), may I get jou a drink?" I ask, proud for having not stuttered.

"sure, might as well." she replies calmly.

We both walk to the table and I feel eyes burning into me. I pour a drink for her and one for myself.

"hey, cheers! To being socially awkward enough to get along!" she says with a smile. I can't help but laugh at that.

"cheers!" I grin and engineer mimics wiping away a tear, which (y/n) sees and playfully flips him of for. He mimics acting offended and breaks out laughing, and a small chuckle escapes my lips.

" hey are we cheering, 'cause I'll drink to that!" demoman slurs.

"you'll drink to anything." (y/n) scolds him.

"hey!" he tries to defend himself.

"vell, ze frau's not vrong..." I add and he raises an eyebrow, clearly put off by my good mood. She smirks and we all take a drink. Another soon followed and the good mood continued throughout the night.

Timeskip brought to you by Archimedes!

I wake up with a pounding headache and barely any memories of the night before. I struggle up out of bed to close the blinds and lessen the piercing light coming from the window. When it was slightly more comfortable I look at my bedside table and see something that was not there when I went to bed. There was a couple aspirin pills and some water, along with a note. I pick it up to read it and my eyes widen as I realise who wrote it.

To medic,

Hope you aren't feeling too crumby, we did drink a lot,

Any ways, thank you for an awesome welcoming party and making it a night to remember, (if we can) see you at breakfast,

(y/n) xxx

P.s. those are painkillers, not poison in case you're worried.

I smile a bit at that and then frown at the confusing x's at the end. Kisses or is that how she just ends notes? If they are kisses then why? Did something happen that I can't remember? Am I reading to much into this? Probably, but the pounding headache drives all confusing thoughts away.

I take the aspirin and chase them down with water, and then head down for breakfast. I usually eat after everyone else, but I also usually never join in with the celebrations, there's a first time for everything. The smell of bacon makes my mouth water and I take a seat at the table rather eagerly.

Soon plates of food are carried out by engineer and (y/n). So she can cook too. She is literally perfect. Wait, brain stop that! No thinking in that manner! It's too distracting.

She smiles as she sets down a plate of bacon, eggs, toast and an assortment of other delicious food in front of me.

"danke" I nod in her general direction and she gives a small, 'no problem'. Before my brain can veer of on that dangerous path, I take a bite of the food. It's heavenly, and I soon finished of my plate. I get up and go to put it in the sink and when I turn around I see her leaning against the counter.

"so, how're you doing?" she asks and it takes me a moment to realise she was talking about my  hangover. Surprisingly, it had cleared up.

"much better, danke shön." I reply.

"good to hear." she smiles warmly at me and tilts her head.

"somezing ze matter?" I ask curiously.

"I'm just trying to figure out why the others are so wary of you. You've been nothing but kind to me and try as I might, I can't figure out why anyone'd be scared of you." I flinch at her words. They are some of the kindest I've ever heard but horribly misguided.

Of course, she doesn't know yet, does she. The voice speaks up for the first time since her arrival and my vision darkens. Oh no oh no oh no, please god no, not now. I moan pitifully as the words and images resurface, given new life. All of a sudden I feel a pair of oddly strong hands holding my arms, and a concerned face fills my vision. I cling desperately to that strong sense of security but it's too late. I hear the laughter pouring out of my mouth and I feel the push as she falls to the floor. My body moves on it's own, slowly stalking over to her. I feel the lopsided grin on my face and the bloodthirsty look. What I didn't see was the expression of a scared victim. Instead, what  I saw was a look of grim determination as she faced me. Without warning she leapt forwards and did something I'd never have expected. She hugged me. The small gesture, that almost insignificant action was enough to completely shock me out of my bloodlust.

I don't know for how long we were sat on the kitchen floor locked in a tight embrace, but I do know that this fluttering in my heart and warmth tingling through my body could only mean one thing. The one thing I was trying my hardest to avoid confronting.

"(y/n), I-ich liebe dich. I love you."

I felt the hug tighten and her face bury itself in my shoulder.

"I love you too medic." my heart leapt and I laughed with relief.

Engineer, who was leaning in the doorway, made a heart-shape with his hands and made a kissy face before mouthing the words  'I told you so.'  I flipped him off and helped (y/n) to her feet.

"so, we're dating now?" I ask awkwardly.

"yep." she responds.

"so what exactly does that mean?" I continue questioning.

"It means I can do things like this." she says before leaning forwards and kissing me. I was shocked but soon began to kiss back. Engineer began to roll his eyes and make a gagging sound.

"get a room." he said sarcastically.

You two decided to take his advice.

So, how'd I do? I had a lot of fun writing this one and I hope you had just as much fun reading it! Turns out that Engie makes a pretty good wingman! Anyways, still waiting on requests but don't worry, I'm patent. See you later!
