Colby's POV

So today is thanksgiving. I call Mia to see if she's ready. It rings for a while and she doesn't pick up.

"Hey Sam, can you call Alena to see if they're ready?"

"Yeah"

He calls and she picks up.

"Hey" "You guys ready?" "okay" "be there in ten" "bye"

"They said they're ready"

"Alright." I wonder why Mia didn't pick up.

-----

"Hey" Mia and Alena says as they get in the car.

"Sup" I say.

"Let's do this shit" Mia says.

"I'm excited"

"Yeah you should be"

"I'm excited too, I get to meet Alena's parents today" Sam says.

"They're excited to meet you" Alena says.

"So you guys are good now?"

"Yeah, I'm excited to see them"

"Me too"

While we're driving I look at Mia through the rear view mirror and she looks sick.

"Mia you okay?"

"Yeah, fine" she smiles.

"Are you sure?"

"Kinda"

"What do you mean kinda?"

"Do you have a plastic bag in here?"

"No"

"Pull over, hurry!" Alena says and Sam pulls over. Mia and Alena get out of the car and Mia starts throwing up while Alena holds her hair. I get out and help.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah fine, I just get a little car sick sometimes"

"You didn't last time"

"Well that was last time"

"Okay..." we get back in the car.

We get to Mia's parents house and meet everyone. They seemed nice, I don't think they're as crazy as she makes them to be. We all sit and get comfortable around the family. I guess it's a tradition for them to sit around and tell each other stories from the past. Everyone talked about how Mia was that little girl that everyone adored. Even now, they ask her for important favors because they can trust her. They said she was always the baby that made everyone smile and laugh. I definitely believe it because it's still true. Her family truly do love and cherish each other, they got each other's backs.

After we eat, we head outside and sit by the fire. We all roast marshmallows to make s'mores. I hand Mia a stick but she refuses. I make my own and start eating it. I look at Sam and Alena and they're eating their own. I look back over at Mia and she's just eating the chocolate. I find it odd because she doesn't like to eat chocolate by itself unless it has something else in it.

"Aye, I thought you didn't like chocolate by itself"

"Hmm" she looks at it then at me, "guess I do now" she shrugs her shoulders.

I think something's wrong with her, she's been acting a little weird. From the 'car sick' incident to the chocolate. I've also noticed that she's sleeping a lot more. Alena and Mia did just have midterms so I guess that's why. I push the thought back and enjoy the fire. I see her uncle's drinking and telling funny stories. Soon they all start talking in spanish so I couldn't understand.
