you sit beside ethan as he tries to play little big planet on the tv.
"c'mon you dumb sack of potatoes, jump!" he angrily presses the buttons and throws the controller on your guy's couch.
he put his face on his hands and dragged them down so his face went down with it.
he lets out a long groan. "oh my godddd."
"here baby, give it to me."
"no, i can do it. i swear."
you nod your head and say "if you insist" before heading to the store to get some groceries.
your house is pretty big, so ethan doesn't hear you come in and set the groceries on the table.
"ethan, babe? are you home?" you call out.
no reply.
you walk upstairs to find ethan sitting on the couch with some of his friends.
"oh, there you are. why didn't you answer?"
ethan stays silent.
"who's this cutie, ethan?"
"i don't know." he replies.
"what? ethan?"
"hi, i'm jack. are you single?" the pale one with dimples says.
"what- no?! what the fuck, ethan?"
"please leave me alone."
grayson shifts his body, uncomfortably, trying not to say anything.
ethan focuses on his game.
"ethan?" your heart starts to race.
"baby, what do you mean?"
"and don't call me that. i'm not your baby. just because we fucked one time doesn't mean we're dating. get out."
tears sting the corners of your eyes, but you blink them away.
you walk over to ethan and touch his leg.
"ethan baby, you don't mean that, do you?"
he swats your hand away, leaving a red mark because his hands are so big. he pushes you off of him and you hit the table, making a photo of you two break.
his friends didn't see the photo, but you did.
it was the first picture you guys took together.
"if you don't leave me alone, i'll call the police." he growls.
the tears start to roll down your face, from both the stinging of your hand and the pain of his words.
you run out of the room and go to your guys bedroom.
grayson follows.
you pack your bags, take every photo of ethan and you, and put it on the bed.
you take a sharpie and write on your guys white sheets; "i hope you're happy. we're over."
grayson comes into the room right as you're about to leave.
"y/n? what are you doing?"
"i'm leaving. if he doesn't want me, then i'll just leave."
"no no no, y/n you know he doesn't mean it. he's just trying to look cool."
you drop your bags to the ground and start to sob.
"then why would he say it? why? why would he hurt me? do you see my hand? he doesn't know how strong he is!"
grayson comes over to you and cradles you in a hug.
"come 'ere. shh, shhh, it'll be okay, y/n."
your sobs echo throughout the house and grayson rocks you back and forth until they die down.
eventually, ethan couldn't take it anymore.
"guys, get out."
"wow, fine. what's up your ass?"
"i said leave!" ethan shouts.
he couldn't deal with the fact that he hurt you.
he was the reason for your sobs.
and he wasn't the ones making them go away.
his brother was.
he runs up the stairs and opens the door to your bedroom.
both you and grayson snap your head up.
"ethan i-" grayson starts.
"what the fuck is this?"
"ethan ple-"
"grayson." you look at him pleadingly. he nods.
you take a deep breath and say;
"ethan, if you don't want me, i will just go. we are over. goodbye."
"please. please don't leave me." a tear falls to the ground and grayson exits the room.
"y/n, you can't leave me. please. i need you. i need you baby."
"you didn't need me earlier, ethan. why couldn't you tell them?"
"i didn't want them to take you from me. you and grayson are all i have! please don't leave me."
you interlace your fingers with ethans.
"no one could steal me from you, baby."
you plant a kiss against his plump lips, and feel the wet tears on his face.
"i'm sorry i hurt you, i didn't mean to. i would never do anything to hurt you. it killed me hearing you cry and knowing i was the reason.
and also knowing i wasn't the reason for those sobs going away."
"i forgive you."
he plants a kiss on your neck, making his way up to your lips.
"i love you, y/n." he mumbles against your skin.
"i love you too, ethan."
