"how do you feel about feelings?"
"they're stupid and unnecessary. love, friendship, and relationships are just a fucking waste of time."
"why?"
"because."
she looked into my eyes, and i looked back at hers.
in that moment of time, that span of 3 seconds, i could feel every single knot she tied come undone.
i could see through her walls, through her fake toughness.
her cold, splitting, undaunted, stare was the one thing that made me stay.
that made me not want to give up on her.
she was broken, and hurt. she didn't want to be saved.
she wanted to be disconnected.
because when you're disconnected from the world,
you won't get hurt.
"what do you want from me?"
"nothing."
"then leave me alone." she said, picking up her bags.
"anastasia, wait."
"what?"
"if you can give me one good reason why you're like this, i'll go."
she sighed and pulled her hood up.
"never get too close ethan, because they're not going to be around forever. everyone will die someday. you will, i will. and when they leave, it will just hurt." her voice cracked.
"and i've been hurt too many times to have it all happen again."
