Chapter 16

We got up, had breakfast, and went out for a stroll where we were recapping all that had happened in just a week and how lucky we have been. We had a light lunch before going to the boys' house, curious of why they persisted so much on us coming by at noon. When we arrived it became immediately clear. We were warmly welcomed, not by the guys, but by Danielle and Eleanor. We were very surprised to see them. We gave each other a hug and they introduced themselves. Caroline and I did the same. They informed us that the guys had arranged this so that we could meet each other. They would come home somewhere in the afternoon. We sat down and chatted a little. To be honest, they were really lovely girls.

"It's nice to finally meet you! Niall hasn't been able to shut up about you for a second.", Danielle said while Eleanor nodded.

"Really?"

I laughed.

"What did he say?"

I could hardly imagine what he would say about me.

"Tons of thing! I have the feeling that I already know you."

We laughed.

"And you are Caroline, right?"

"Yep."

"Well, I have heard a lot about you too! You helped the guys with their first date, didn't you?"

Eleanor pointed at me while saying that.

"Yeah, I did."

"That was so nice of you. You really are her best friend."

"It wasn't a problem. Besides, I knew she would like it a lot."

Caroline gave me a glance. I smiled in return. I really appreciated her doing that for me.

"Yeah, well, it made Niall very happy. I had never seen him so cheery before, not even over food."

I looked down and smiled. He liked me more than food. My boyfriend was random.

"If you don't mind us asking, are you guys actually, like, together?"

"Because Niall was very enthusiastic for us to meet you last night, but he wouldn't tell us why. It's just a guess though."

I laughed a little. It's so weird to hear other girls talk about Niall, who apparently talks about me. It's so surreal.

"Yes, we're together."

It felt so weird saying that, but the good kind of weird. I had goosebumps. The girls laughed excitedly.

"I told you he was hiding something!"

Eleanor and Danielle looked at each other, then me.

"Since when? Yesterday, right?"

I nodded.

"See! I knew it! It's so fast though. Talk about love at first sight!"

They had a point. I guess Niall and I did have an instant connection. They calmed themselves down a bit.

"Okay, what about you?"

Danielle and Eleanor looked at Caroline. She looked really confused.

"What about me?"

"Yeah, you and Zayn?"

She looked at them, then away, then back, then at me, then away and so on. I could see she really didn't know what to say.

"Uh... I don't know what you are trying to say."

"Are you and Zayn together?"

Caroline smiled and looked really surprised by that assumption, though it wasn't so clear. I wanted to know too, actually, because lately, we were always talking about Niall and me. Which meant, my mind hadn't been focused enough to wonder too much about them.
