Best Friends Part1

"Hello, Nerdy Naomi." Raymond greeted. 

I was at school, all by myself. The guys had one of those gang meetings so they couldn't make it today, and it was up to me to make it out of here alive. 

I just arrived to homeroom when Raymond greeted me with a sneer. He knew I was vulnerable the second the guys weren't with me. Yet, he was the only one to bully me, or so as I thought. 

"What do you want Raymond." I replied while taking out a notebook and a pencil. 

He sat right beside me. "Nothing, me and the guys could use a beating on you sometime during lunch. Meet us?"

"That'd better be a joke."

"But what if I told you it wasn't."

"Then i'd go and leave lunch to go somewhere else."

He clicked his tongue. "You can't hide in the stalls Naomi."

"Who said I was gonna?"

"Feisty as usual. Better watch your mouth Nerds, before you step up to the big guns."

I opened my mouth to say a comeback when someone beat me back to it. 

"And you better watch your mouth before we do it ourselves." Declan snapped. 

I sighed. Declan banged his fist on my desk. Bennett cracking his knuckles, and Jordan giving death comebacks to Raymond. 

Declan looked down and smiled at me. "Hello Naomi."

I grinned. "Hello boys. Nice of you to drop in at such a great time, yet, why are you here?"

"We'll talk at lunch." 

And for that, all the death threats stopped, knuckled cracking, and the talk with Declan stopped. 

But, even though they came in a such a great time, I still had so many questions on why they came so early.

Lunch came and all the guys waited for me at the usual table. 

I sat down, looking at my food, and then at the guys. "So, explain."

They all looked at each other and opened their mouths. 

Jordan scratched his head, Bennett whistled and Declan was writing some stuff down. I grabbed his paper, just some lists of fruits. 

"Really?" I asked, as I gave him the paper back. 

He nodded. "Yes really! My therapist says that when you are stressed, write lists down."

I narrowed my eyes at him. "Stressed? What are you stressed out by?"

"Nothing."

"Doesn't seem like nothing."

"Because I didn't say nothing."

"Double negative turns to a positive."

"What?"

"It means that you made two negative words together and when you do that, it makes a positve, meaning you are saying the opposite."

Declan shook his head. "I'm sorry, but, what grammar textbook did you swallow?"

I rolled my eyes. "Just please, tell me why you guys came early! You said you'll be back tomorrow, clearly, it is still today."

Jordan flicked a popcorn in his mouth. "Do we really have to tell you? It's not that important to be honest."

"But guys.... If you don't tell me, I might as well ignore you guys for a week."

They choked. Bennett almost swallowed a chicken strip, Jordan coughed a popcorn out, and Declan nearly vomited his smoothie. "WHAT."
