Today has been a long day of work for me. It's a boring job to continuously iron clothes at the dry cleaner in town. Work is all I do right now. I'm saving money for my own house. Maybe one day I will marry to a man and raise some children. My dreams aren't big. After ironing hundreds of clothes, bringing back the girls' borrowed books to the library and vacuuming the living room, just when I thought I was free to do my own business, it had to be my turn to cook today. Selena and Miley worked as well of course. We all work to afford this beautiful house.

I remember when Melissa sent me a text that she found a house available for me. I couldn't rent the house on my own. So of course, the first person I called was Selena. Living in the same house as she was a childhood dream. I remember fantasizing about a beautiful house with a garden and a pool with her. Of course, we don't have a pool. Dreams don't come true in detail. Selena and I have been very good friends from the beginning. Miley, a friend Selena and I both know from middle school, called us to ask if there was still room. Though we hadn't even moved in yet, we knew two people weren't enough to afford a house like this.

And to our surprise, after living in this house for 6 months, three people turned out to still not be enough. Our landlords informed us about a girl from an isolated tribe who had been transferred to America. She wanted to come live with us too, at least that's what they told us. Her name is Kyra and she is coming today. It's cute how Selena overturned her room to make it a room for two. Replaced all of her stuff the the left side of the room, and left the right half tidy and cleaned. She's actually quite excited about becoming friends with someone new. She's not used to making new friends. Miley on the other hand... She had her concerns. "We aren't actually going to babysit an ignorant 18-year-old are we..?" I remember her asking it after the landlords called. It's an utter Miley-comment. Very typical. I share my room with her. She was already a hothead in middle school. After having shared my room with her for 6 months, I know her the best.

"But David told me I would get his 20 bucks back tomorrow." "Well then, problem solved, right?" "Well, you know David. He makes promises he can't keep." "If he doesn't return that money, you can, for one time, seriously get mad at that dude. He needs to get his ass whooped once in a while." "I'm not an ass whooper." "Then creep up from behind and stab him in the back, do it the Miley-way" "I should, yeah." "Besides, Brenda wanted to buy that tree painting of yours, so you're at least getting 50 bucks anyways." "Oh shit, yes! I still need to call her!"

The doorbell rings. I turn around to look through the window of the living room. I can see a large man with a huge belly standing at the door. And behind him, I can see a small 18-year-old peeking over his shoulder. Two wide eyes, plus a good bush of dark-brown curly hair. "It's Kyra!" Selena yells. I quickly place back my spatula and walk through the hallway, towards the door. I can hear faint voices from behind it. I open the door and the man smiles at me.

"Good afternoon miss, I am the truck driver of Kyra's transfer company and this here is Kyra. I am here to give you instructions on guiding Kyra in socializing with the outside world. I have a sheet here, containing her diet, sleep rhythm and more. They are very strict. Kyra's health condition doesn't match one of an average girl her age yet..." The man keeps on blabbing. But all I am paying attention to is Kyra. The most ignorant, mesmerized, yet traumatized, most light blue eyes I have ever seen are looking straight into mine. A faint smile appears on her face. She's gorgeous. I can suddenly feel the presence of Selena and Miley behind me. They both look at Kyra the same way as I did a second ago. All thinking the same. This girl is pure, innocent, contains beauty, is full of wonder and is able to show that with just one stare. She's tanned, with brown hair and very skinny. Her upper arm has an E-speech. E-speeches are highly popular for immigrants at the moment. I wonder what language she originally speaks. Probably something Indian, judging from her looks.
