Epilogue

                               Running ecstatically from the meeting room full of content sorcerers from each sanctum, Steven and Ana quickly hopped into a portal, laughing wildly, Steven's deep and warm while Ana's was soft and giddy. Steven was pulling at his hair, the tendrils up in spikes that made Ana clutch a stitch in her side, collapsing onto the floor of the foyer of the house. " They want to make you my apprentice," he said breathlessly, the realization dawning on him as he breathed deeply, mouth agape as Ana quickly stumbled to her feet beside him, still panting with a small smile.

                               The meeting they had just returned from was supposed to be normal; addressing Mordo's death, Ana's death and resurrection, and what was to happen now discovering Ana had gained most control of her newfound powers. When they had arrived, however, the meeting had taken a different, more positive turn and had turned into what Ana could do with her powers and what her future would hold. Then the brilliant London sanctum master had brought an idea to mind; making Ana Steven's apprentice. They had immediately jumped with glee before running out, leaving the sorcerers smirking with mischievous glances towards one another.  They were now standing side by side in the foyer, basking in the sweet silence.

                               " Ana?" Steven said suddenly, making her look over expectantly, still smiling, eyes bright. Steven swallowed anxiously, and Ana's smile slightly faltered as she turned to face him fully, feeling suddenly uncomfortable as she shifted between her two feet. " Do you... want to be... my... apprentice?" The last word sounded foreign to him, and he met her gaze, his heart fluttering at her golden-specked emerald eyes which flashed with concern before exploding with ecstasy, and she smirked, nodding. " I wouldn't miss it for the world," she said softly, still nodding absentmindedly as she relaxed. Steven smiled widely, feeling warm on the inside, and he soon enveloped her in a hug, wrapping his arms around her neck and pulling her head into his chest, balancing his chin on her head of brunette hair as they stood silently, slightly swaying as Ana wrapped her arms around his waist, his strong scent of smoke and cologne comforted her. 

                                           " Ana?" said a voice above her, and she looked up before Steven leaned down and did the unexpected. He kissed her.

                                           Ana felt his lips against hers, soft and warm and gentle, and she melted, wrapping her arms around Steven's neck, toying with the nape of hair on the back of his head as she returned it happily, and Steven smiled against her mouth as he strongly tasted mocha coffee and chocolate, his hands wrapped around her waist, his eyes closed as they were silent, their bodies synching in one as pure bliss flowed between them, their hearts pounding in their ears before they pulled away gasping for air, staring up at one another with slight astonishment and pride. Ana gently placed her fingers to her lips, his warm touch still lingering, and she looked up at him, her heart melting at the dizzy and tipsy expression upon his face. 

                                              " Took you long enough, Steven," she said, her voice slightly trembling as her stomach flipped, and she shook her head with mock disappointment, and he raised an eyebrow, smirking. " Don't start talking smack, dear apprentice," he said with a confident voice, and Ana scoffed playfully, swatting his arm before she crossed hers over her chest, eyebrows raised. " Or what?" she said threateningly, smothered still in a joking tone, and he leaned down, her eyes level with his, and her breath slightly hitched in her throat, and he cocked his head. " Or I'll do it again." He pecked her on the lips again, and her eyes widened with surprise before mouth gaping at him but still smirking. "  Now, you said you loved me? How much, exactly?" he said with a thoughtful expression, tapping the goatee around his chin. Ana snorted but smiled genuinely.

                                              " To infinity and back."
