Sarah was sitting on her bed watching Mica sleep on the other side of the room. She and Owen were still in terrifying silence. Terrifying, because both desperately wanted to break it, but didn't know how and that in of itself seemed like an end.
Instead, Owen took Sarah's hand and threaded his fingers through her's. He desperately wanted her to realise that, even though sending him away had broken his heart, he still loved her, he didn't think it was possible for him to stop.
"So, you're not going back to New York?" Sarah asked, her eyes pointing ahead.
"No." She nodded and sucked her bottom lip into her mouth. "So, they caught the guy?"
"I caught the guy." She let out a long exhale of air before turning and kissing Owen with everything she had. It caught him by surprise but the moment he understood, his arm encircled her waist and pulled her closer. His fingers entangled in her hair and he stole the breath from her lungs. He closed his fist around her hair in agony, pulling it but she didn't care, she needed him to hold her tight, because she'd been ridiculous to ever let him go.

Two Months Earlier
"Owen stop being idiotic." Jolie called out from the bedroom.
"I really don't see how this is going to make you feel better." Owen called from the bathroom, looking down at himself.
"Oh trust me, it will." Owen let out a long sigh and reentered the room, prompting Jolie to burst out into laughter.
"Happy?" Owen asked and Jolie put on her best sad puppy dog expression. She overturned her bottom lip, made her eyes as wide as humanly possible and scrunched up her forehead.
"I will be if you go buy me ice-cream in that costume."
"No way in hell."
"Please?" Long argument short, Owen did in fact walk down to the get Jolie ice-cream to nurse her broken heart, stretching out her ex-girlfriend's unicorn costume in the process. See her complete her performance with these rags hanging off her!
After experiencing far fewer strange looks than expected Owen found the room dark. He didn't turn on the light instead let his eyes adjust to the dark and made his way across the room.
"Hey." He said as she sat up to accept the ice cream. She moved over and he got into the bed beside her and wrapped an arm around her. She leant against his chest and smirked at the feeling of lycra against her cheek.
"Stupid fucking straight girls." Owen nodded before realising she couldn't see him.
"I think its a people thing. People are just generally shit to one another. They don't think about the consequences for everyone else." Jolie sighed and offered him the spoon. He sucked the french vanilla off of it before returning it. Jolie sighed again.
"I think its just stupid straight girls." Owen rubbed her shoulder with his thumb as a series of sobs wracked through her body, the reality of Jolie being played once again by someone who didn't appreciate her brilliance. It wasn't limited to the latest, who was a straight girl having a play at the life, it had been happening again and again to Jolie. Even people with the same orientation seemed to take advantage of her.
Jolie was a giver, probably how she'd ended up with Owen having given the silent, brooding guy a chance. She couldn't imagine how anyone couldn't also be a giver. It was just her default setting, giving to another human being.
