a/n I honestly can't believe this story has over 500 reads. I'm so thankful for everyone who has read this story. There'll be one more chapter after this one and then there'll  be a sequel following the life of Mica when she discovers that Owen isn't actually her father. I hope that people who have enjoyed this one will give this new story, Landing, a chance. So yeah, thank you so much :-)

"Nope. Not happening. Not this century." Vic said scowling, pulling the two kids closer towards her. "You do not get to leave New Mexico, come on!" She shouted, appalled at the very notion. She loved the state she grew up in and knew that they did too. She grabbed their chins so she was holding them by the faces, but she saw their twin sad smiles as if they had practised how to react to Vic, they had.

"We've spent a long time thinking about this Vic, and it has to be the right thing to do, after everything." Sarah's voice was almost pleading, without anyone truly acknowledging what they were doing, Sarah and Owen for asking permission, maybe even for someone to truly forbid them to leave.

"Your whole lives are right here." Vic said dejectedly, forcing her voice to be hard, even as she knew what was sure to come, what had to come next. She had watched those two kids grow, watched Sarah's kid grow too, but she knew they had to rise above all of this to truly be freed. Not to run away, but to not be anchored by the tragedy.

"We're moving to Illinois, it's not so far. Less than four hours flight time Vic." Owen offers, squeezing Sarah's hand as she looks pleadingly at Vic. Feeling every moment with her in a flash. Everytime Vic had been the only one there. The only one who would hold her and tell her it was going to be okay, the one who would play with her hair in an attempt to make it managable. They had been through every up and down together as a team, as family and Sarah never wanted to be without her. She didn't believe that this would be being without her.

"There's no convincing you two otherwise is there?" Vic asked, pulling them to her for a group hug. "You two better never lose contact, because I will fly to Chicago just to whip both your asses into shape." She threatened even as a stupid tear slipped from the corner of her left eye, it would be the only one to fall because she couldn't help but smile as Sarah kissed her cheek.

Nola did not take the news as well as Vic. They sat on Nola's bed, facing her on her feet, hands on hips, their hands in each other's and spilt their plan. Jolie had just moved to Chicago to work on small political campaigns, apparently her big ambition in life, Owen hadn't had a clue. Sarah had a scholarship to the University of Chicago and was planning to get a Biophysical Sciences degree while she trained for, wherever she decided she was going to end up. Owen, Owen didn't know yet, but he was ready for an adventure.

Once they had explained they looked straight down the barrel of disapproval.

"You want to leave your entire support network behind to move to Illinois?" She asked, her voice trembling with thunder that filled the room while emptying Sarah's head. Before anyone knew what had happened Nola grabbed Owen by the shirt and pulled him to his feet and shook him.

"Which genius had this idea huh? Princess Dee or Hero Dum?" She asked, smirking at herself before she went back to her anger.

"I did." Owen replied, slowly trying to detach Nola's fists, but it was like magnets had stuck her to his shirt, he couldn't shake her.

"How does Mica factor in? She's almost four guys. She's almost four. She'll need to go to preschool, school, she'll need an education. She's your responsibility, you can't just flit around, you need to protect her. What have you planned exactly?" Nola stared at the pair of idiots, taking it a step at a time? Nuh uh. She was the unorganised one. She was the one who flitted from one idea to the next, no clue what to do with her life. They were the responsible ones, they yinged her yang by keeping her on time. By they, she, of course, meant Sarah. Owen was cool and all, but Sarah was her family, she was her sister, she didn't get to just leave.
