Life went by. But Mitch came to a stand still. It was strange...he barely knew Scott...yet he missed him so much. He missed his beautiful smile, the comfort of his house, the safety of his arms.

All he had was a hoodie. And Mitch held onto it, as if by letting go he would lose every ounce of his being. He had to grasp onto this last bit of Scott.

Scott didn't know what to think. He was falling for Mitch...but Mitch wanted nothing to do with him. It killed Scott that the one person who needed him, the one person he had a shot at having a friendship with, kept pushing him away. He had no idea what Mitch had gone through....but it must have been bad. What had caused such a kind hearted man to become so closed off and.....sad?

Wyatt would stay by the front door all day. Scott knew he wanted Mitch, who wouldn't? But Scott had made a promise to Mitch to keep Wyatt, a promise which he planned on keeping. He also didn't want to let this last bit of Mitch go....he couldn't bare to abandon the thought of Mitch completely.

Mitch couldn't sing. He couldn't even speak to the passers by who attempted a conversation with him. His heart wasn't in it. Every thought, every person, every movement reminded him of Scott.

He watched the people walk past him. Why couldn't he be one of them? One of the people with the loving family, the mountain of friends, the warm house to go back to at night.

Mitch was just surrounded by darkness, whether it be day or night. He couldn't think happy thoughts and he couldn't  seem to function. He hadn't eaten in over a day but the hunger didn't bother him.

His dreams would be littered with Scott. He would fantasise about laughing at his house, going to the movies and smiling until his cheeks ached.....kissing him and feeling his love rubbing off onto him.

Then he'd wake up. And the darkness would swallow him up, eating away any little bit of happiness he was feeling.

Mitch was falling for Scott.
