Just Go

"Why are you always in the way?" Josh grunted as he pushed Mitch out of the way.

"W-well I don't want to be here do I?" Mitch said trying to act confidently.

"You're staying." Gavin interrupted before and argument could break out.

Mitch's back was sore from sleeping on the floor for the past 3 nights. He still had to sing and he still got 0% of the money he made. And it wasn't like the he others were sensible with the money. They would spend it on cigarettes and whatever else they had in those clear plastic packets. There was always the stench of smoke and a misty cloud around their little area, giving Mitch a constant headache. The money which they did decide to spend on food only bought a few lots of chips from the chippy meaning Mitch had to steal a few from Ewan.

Ewan was an indecisive character. He put up this hard front when he was around the others. But, whenever he saw Mitch struggling, he would help. He'd interrupt the argument or toss him a  few chips. He wasn't ever overly nice, he still picked Mitch up on anything he did that was "gay" and gave him a push here and there.....but it was better than anything the others did.

Meanwhile Scott was worried. He didn't know where Mitch was. He'd been to his spot every single day, wishing, praying that he would be there singing his heart out. But he never came. This was all Scott's fault. Scott was the one who kissed him, the one who caused all of this. He couldn't take it if something had happened to him.

At least he still had Wyatt. It felt like he had a piece of Mitch with him (plus he was keeping his promise to look after him).

He still had to go to work everyday.....and he hated it. The entire time he was there his mind was conjuring up senarios, imagining what nightmares had happened to Mitch.

He was walking down the street and suddenly he heard something

Why d'you have to go and make things so complicated....

That was definitely Mitch. He couldn't mistake that beautiful singing voice even if it did sound a bit....off. There was no passion there, like it was forced.

And you fall and you crawl and you break and you take what you get and you turn it into....

Scott began to follow the sound, turning down alleys and streets until he reached the source of the voice.  He had never felt so relieved. Mitch was safe, he wasn't hurt....at least not on the outside.

"Mitch." He whispered.

Mitch whipped his head around and his eyes clouded.

"S-scott....Urm....why are you here?" Mitch looked around worriedly.

"I was worried....." Scott said.

"Well I'm fine so-"

"Sorry who are you?" Gavin crawled through the crack in the wall causing Scott to step back. Mitch just looked down, he didn't want Scott to get hurt.

"I'm Scott.....who are you?" Scott was confused and a bit intimidated by Gavin.

"Gavin, not that that matters. Do you know him?" Gavin pointed to Mitch who was still looking at the floor shifting from foot to foot.

"Yes I know him. What's it to you?" Scott was getting annoyed.

"Oh nothing." Gavin smirked.

Scott shook his head and turned back to Mitch. "Come home with me, Mitch. Please let's just talk about the kiss."

Mitch looked up with worry in his eyes.

"Oh, so that's who you are."Gavin had a permanent smirk on his face. "Well, he's not going anywhere."

"Who are you? His spokesman." Scott said, getting more and more irritated.

"He's staying" Gavin said firmly, taking a step toward Scott. Mitch couldn't wait any longer, he didn't want Scott getting hurt.

"Wait." He whispered. "Scott...I'm staying.....just go."

"Mitch-"

"Go Scott. I've made my choice." Mitch didn't want to Scott to leave and could only hopelessly watch as Scott walked away.

"You made the right choice, Mitch." Gavin said with a satisfied grin on his face as he put his hand on Mitch's shoulder.

"Get off me." Mitch shrugged him off. "I only stayed for Scott. I'll sing for your cigarettes and your drugs, but only because I don't want Scott to get hurt. Don't talk to me." He spat.
