ANNE WINSTON

It was the worst Saturday of my life. My friend's little "house invasion" was officially the most traumatic thing that happened to me. After the "Fantastic Duo", Jane and Chad, had seen me touching Gab's naked body, I felt like disappearing from this world out of embarrassment. I had always considered my weekend as a period for myself and family, but this time I had to share it with the people I always hung out with. Saturday had always been my rest day, but they had transformed it into my most restless day.

My friends spent the night at our house, as per Mom's suggestion. I was hoping that Dad would be against it since two boys would be staying over, but I was wrong: he was extremely delighted to have boys in our house. I couldn't blame him for that. It was probably hard for him to be the only man of the house (dealing with women is a hassle, truth be told), so the prospect of having TWO boys over was really exciting for him.

We spent the night playing monopoly, scrabble, and loads of other board games with my Mom and Dad. We stayed up until 3 in the morning, except for my parents. Being, you know, oldies, they didn't make it and hit the sack by midnight.

Though it was the worst Saturday, it was also the funniest. Spending time like this was rare for me since I always spent my spare time alone in our house. It wasn't like I was a loner, I just loved having some peace and quiet time for myself since studying while competing was really exhausting.

Jane and I shared my room, while Gab and Chad shared the guest room. Since we stayed up so long, we all woke up by noon. Instead of cooking breakfast, Mom was preparing for lunch. As soon as we had all gathered at the dining table, Mom served us burger steak.

We digged in until we filled our tummies. Right after that, the three of them took a shower before leaving our house. Chad was first to finish. I noticed that after he was done he went to the garden. I wondered why, since it was filled with snow, and it was incredibly cold outside.

I debated whether to follow him there after a while since he was taking so long. I thought he just wanted some fresh air, but I was worried he'd catch a cold if he stayed there for too long. Since Gab had just gone to the bathroom, and I knew it would take a century for Jane to fix herself up, I decided to go to the garden.

Chad was leaning against the wall, staring blankly at the snow. It was the first time for me to see him look so down and deep in thought. He didn't even notice me. It made me wonder what he was thinking. Well, he was an idiot who had nothing in his mind but stupid things. I suddenly remembered what he told us yesterday after he saw me touching Gab's naked body. That idiot thought that we were going to do 'that', and thinking about it really pissed me off. How could he come to that conclusion? He even told us to use protection. What the hell was he thinking?

He was startled when I suddenly popped out and also leaned against the wall. At first he just stared at me, his face full of confusion, but then his eyes glazed over and he went back to staring off into space. The look on his face was the same: he looked like he had a problem.

"What are you doing here?" I asked. As I turned to face him, his expression lightened up a little.

"Nothing. Just thinking about something." It was really weird to see him this serious.

"What are you thinking?" I asked.

He knuckled his eyes and let out a sigh.

"Stuff?"

Great answer. Chad was an honest person, so seeing him being so vague really bothered me. Chad was my friend after all, so I wanted to help him as much as possible if he was feeling down. Actually, seeing him like this gave me the creeps.
