ANNE WINSTON
I was woken up by the sunlight that streamed into the small window of the stockroom. The wind was still chilly, but his body gave me enough warmth to keep me from freezing. His head was still leaning on my shoulder while he was soundly asleep.
I snuck a peek at his face. Damn! What a perfect nose. I remembered the time when I first bumped into him. That was the moment I first noticed his nose. His skin was smooth and flawless, I felt a strange urge to touch him but I controlled myself. His hair smelled like citrus (it must've been his shampoo) but what attracted me the most was his smell, his perfume tickled my nose and I couldn't stop sniffing. I didn't notice that I'd been staring him for a long time. I got flustered when I realized that and immediately looked to the opposite side but my movement woke him up.
He slowly opened his eyes. It looked like he forgot that he was trapped with me in the stockroom because after he woke up he scanned the surroundings. And when his gaze met mine, my cheeks suddenly felt like they were burning. Oh my God! He still looked hot even after waking up.
"Good morning," he greeted me with a confused face. He must've been curious as to why I quickly moved my gaze to somewhere else.
"G-good morning," I said back in a lower voice, I didn't think he heard it.
My cheeks couldn't stop from burning. I wondered how red they were. A moment of silence came after that, but it was interrupted by a loud knock from the door. Both of us quickly stood up right after hearing that and headed to where it was coming from.
" Winston! Clark! Are you guys there?" the person outside asked. He must've been a teacher because he addressed us with our surnames.
"Yes, we're here!" I immediately responded.
"We're trapped here. Could you please open the door?" Gab said after that.
"Ok, I'll open it. You stay back," the person commanded us. We did as we were told, moving a few meters away from the door.
Then the door was finally open. The light from outside blinded us for a bit, and when our vision cleared Mr. Cross was in front of us together with Jane and Chad who both looked worried.
"Anne! Thank God you're fine," Jane said while hugging me tightly like I was lost for a month. "Your mom called me last night, she told me that you didn't come home. I was so worried. I've been calling you but you didn't answer your phone! Then I called Chad to ask if he knew where you were and I found out that Gabriel hadn't come home either!"
"We thought you guys were doing dirty stuff and didn't want to tell us. But when we got to school we ran into Mrs. Amlet. She asked us if we had seen Gabriel because she needed the key to the stock room. We also ran into Mr. Cross who was holding Anne's things because she left them in the gym. He told us that he had asked Anne to return the things that they had used during his class, so with that we thought that the both of you were probably locked in here." Chad explained to us.
I was happy that I had my friends who were always there everytime I needed them. Jane asked me what happened. I immediately explained since I felt it was all my fault. I told them everything that had happened. I was ashamed of myself, since because of my stupidity we had to stay here for a night.
Chad helped me as we made our way to the nurse's office to give me medication for my ankle while Mr. Cross contacted Gab and I's parents to pick us up.
Ms. Rouge, the school's nurse, immediately checked my ankle. She wrapped it with a bandage and ordered me to not take it off for a fast recovery. After she assured me that everything was fine, she left the office and headed to her class, since she was also a health teacher. Chad and Jane also left, leaving only me and Gab inside. The air felt so heavy that it was hard for me to breathe.
